This is another pencil sketch from the depths of the closet. Should I include it with my other art on the website? The person isn't too weird looking in this one...

More denizens from the closet:

I'm not putting this on the website, because I don't want to have to try this medium for someone else (especially if they're paying me), nor do I particularly care to do people portraits. It was just an exercise with a ballpoint pen (extra fine) that turned out. I had picked a photo from Newsweek, I think, and I don't remember now who this guy even was... Lol! I think he was from Poland...

Another Patch portrait, this one I tried with a Pilot pen (fine line marker). Not great, but not too bad. She was always one of my favorite subjects to draw...

I'm new here. In my meandering round the site I stumbled into this part of the forum and ... well, I'm just blown away. Your artwork is stunning. All the others kind enough to share their work too. Yes, do use the horse and rider it's fabulous. Patch too. If you don't want to do portraits then don't put the mystery man up though. It's great but if that's not what you want to spend time on - why disappoint people?

Hi skyeboxer, and welcome to the site! Do you like to draw, too? Or paint? Or sculpt? Always like looking at others' art!

Thanks! I wasn't planning on putting the mystery man (good one! Lol!) or Patch on the website, they were both sort of experiments using different mediums. Maybe with more practice... lots and lots more practice... I'd get more comfortable with those mediums, but until then, I'll just mess around with it when I have time.

Hey Snark.

I am not an artist of any description. I draw a mean kid's horse in that my daughter loves my horse drawings but nowhere near what all you guys are doing. I went through a phase of portrait sketches a while back. Just copying magazine photos you know. I find it relaxing but would be mortified to air them in public.

Awww, thanks you all, I really appeciate the kind words (and I don't mind constructrive criticism either). Drawing people is still kinda hit and miss for me - sometimes they turn out, more often something is 'off'. It's amazing how some small detail can throw the whole thing out of wack and it sometimes takes someone else pointing that out to make one see it.

I've got other drawings in the works, I'll make you all sit through them if they turn out (and maybe if they don't. Lol!) You've been warned!
