Well, I'm at work, sitting by the phone. Just waiting for phone calls to come in with precinct results. *spinning in chair* I'm bored. Wish it would hurry.

Gahhh I wish I were old enough to vote. It really upsets me that in 2008 I'll only be 17 years old...soooo close lol. :D

Anyway last time I checked none of the people I want to win are. I just want the stupid commercials to be over though...I never thought it possible to miss commercials, but I really do miss all the silly little commercials for products.

God help us all... Nancy Pelosi is the new Speaker of the House. Will anything move in our government in the next 2 years?

I honestly pray from the bottom of my heart that the next 2 years are not ones of investigations, impeachment hearings and other such mud slinging. I really hope that the Democrats take advantage and faithfully execute their plan...

Wait, WHAT plan? [;)] "Vote for Change". What a stupid slogan.

Great! The shift from fascism back to socialism! Way to go America!

Watch your step, please dont slip in the sarcasm.

I just hate that no one votes for good people to lead, they have only successfully replaced bad leaders with more bad leaders destined to take more freedoms and more of your money.

The only way real change is going to happen is for the entire system to crash and burn and necesitate a start from scratch.

But I"ll take these results!

Agreed... May it come sooner rather than later. Why? Because only the truly prepared will survive it. The Democrats have a fantastic opportunity to actually show the country who they REALLY are. When they raise the minimum wage and all of our taxes, watch the economy take a dump. THEN watch them blame it on the other side. They are good at blame and short on answers, other than "we are not them".

It really is a shame. In PA, Bob Casey (Mr. "I will do whatever Howard Dean tells me to.) beats Rick Santorum. Santorum is one of the few people in the Senate who calls a spade a spade. He is one of the few will will really call Islamic Fundamentalism what it is....

But I"ll take these results!
Honestly now, why? What do you see getting better? I am anxious to feel good about this somehow, please show me.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2006/11/payback_time_wh.html

This is exactly what I was talking about. Shocking it comes from Brian Ross at ABC.

Here is the Dems big chance to show us who they really are and if they proceed with this line of nonsense, they are no better than the Republicans. If they really do nothing but try to "punish" the Republicans.... They will get their ass handed to them in 08'.

I weep for my nation. We are so divided. Which "side" will be the "big person" and move FORWARD? Neither I fear.

Ya... Great examples for "leaders" Mass has. Kerry and Kennedy. A traitor and an alcoholic who lied and got away with murder. LOL
Healy lost. She's no leader (and she wasn't a leader under Romney either . . . and he's a #@!^$#@). Patrick's in charge. First black governor of MA, and on the second black governor ever voted into office in US history! It's about friggin' time.

Perhaps it is simply the pipe dream of an idealistic hippie, but I see the Dems learning from all the corrupt sliminess that has come to represent the GOP in the last few years and actually living up to at least a measure of the bi-partisanship they are promising.

I am happy because the people are finally standing up and saying "We are SICK of all the crap that's going on right now" and trying to do something about it, versus saying "Oh well" and just voting to keep the same rotten politics in place. People actually went out and voted yesterday! LOTS of them! People generally ignore the midterms, but not yesterday.

I am happy because the most corrupt Congress/House in history was tossed out on it's ear yesterday. ANYTHING has got to be better than the blatent back-scratching hypocrisy that filled the majority.

People are judged by the company they keep, and lately the "Party of God" has had some pretty poor company showing up.

I had a better response written out, but I managed to erase it somehow before replying, so there's that.

It's all over! I'm so very happy that the next time I pick up the phone, it won't be Joe Piscopo on the other end, burbling about how he loves being from New Jersey, and won't you please vote. I guess Bruce was too busy shacking up with his 9/11 widow to contribute a recording. John Kerry still holds my #1 spot for horrific guy to hear on the phone.

Zoom, I'm an Independent from the much-abused state of New Jersey and I can say from bitter experience that the Democrats are fully the equal of the Republicans in hypocrisy, back-scratching, corruption and sliminess. We're swapping rhetoric, not substance. If we were swapping substance, at least one Democrat would be able to verbalize what the hell their party stands for, instead of just burbling on about Bush, Iraq, Bush, Iraq.

Wholeheartedly agree, Zoom. I am glad the Dems came out on top, and was very glad to see Claire McCaskill pull the Senate seat in Missouri, and Nancy Boyda hold on to her position in my home state of Kansas. KS/MO generally could go either way, red or blue, I think the heavy Democrat victories and the good voter turnout is an indication of the American people's dissatisfaction with the current administration and recognition of the need for change.

(edit) regarding those complaining about the Democrats being no better than the Republicans... that may be true, but our country really has no other options. You can vote till you're blue in the face for candidates from another party besides Republican or Democrat, but the fact is that the election can only be taken by one or the other. This isn't really fair that we've narrowed our system down to two choices at election time, but that's what we've got... and I'm tired of the war, tired of Bush's lying with no consequences, and at least the Democrats are willing to recognize that this is a problem which needs to be changed, even if they don't have the surefire solutions we all hope for.

Careful... Do you know much about the Congress of 15th President James Buchanan? ;) Those clowns caused a REAL Civil War in the US.

I simply hope the Dems do something to unite us again. But I fear they will only pile on to the current culture and that is not good.

People are judged by the company they keep, and lately the "Party of God" has had some pretty poor company showing up.
God is an Independant. I asked Him. LOL

The Dems say that "God is not a Republican or a Democrat." Here is their chance to prove it.
