He's a Police Academy flunk out because he's afraid of loud, sharp noises...like gunshots...but he's a sweetie! Interesting bark, I wonder if all Dutchies have this bark or just him. He's been boarding with us for about a month while his owner was recuperating from surgery and everyone has been calling him a shepherd/boxer mix because he's brindle and doesn't look like any shepherds they've seen before. But I talked to the owner today and I was right, it is a Dutch!

The Sergent of the Detroit Police K-9 Services had 5 of them and they all worked like a dream. Awesome dogs.

My guy is part Dutch shepard. I never even heard of a dutch shepard until I got him. I was actually lucky enough to talk to this couple at the leash free who had a pure dutch who came over to me and said your dog has to be part dutch he looks very very similar to the dutch. Just has white on his paw and too much white on his chest but other than that hes a dead ringer in looks. They are lovely dogs. I may not get the fullness of a pure dutch but atleast I get some of it.

a guy just came to us not too long ago with his "pit" mix from the shelter. Looked to be 100% dutchie to me, had great nerves, great drive, and great attitude, just a little too wound up for whomever had him before. Don't know the dogs background, but from what he's shown i'm sure he is a Dutch shepherd that was one heck of an accident, or someone wanted the "working" dog, but didn't know what to do with it so they got rid of it.

Zoom.. before we got Stella we were looking into adopting a Dutch Shepherd from a family who was moving to Japan.

His name was Big Guy and he was fully trained and fixed. We would have gotten him, but we werent to sure how him and Binn would get along, so we opted not to get him.

He was very handsome though :)

The last thing in the world anybody in the Dutch world wants is for them to be recognized by CKC or AKC, let them be considered mixes and mutts and let them retain their working ability.

Are they really mixes.. I thought they were purebreed.
They are a breed, just not a recognizable one, most aren't registered with the FCI, so they won't be recognized by the CKC or AKC. I should have chosen my wording more carefully, sorry

Ask and ye shall recieve...not very good pictures because he's scared of the camera and the guy holding the leash isn't a very good handler. But it's an idea anyway.

Those little brown spots right behind him belong to Aubrey ;)

Looking out the door after her:
