Glad you're sticking around Paula ..... back to your OP ....my Goldens averaged 8 to 12 pups.

wow, the Golden only had 5, its the mutt that had 13. 11 where born and a few days later mommy was doing really bad so we took her to the vet, who found out 2 more where stuck inside. We allmost lost here there, it was a really close call.

It was NOT my decision to have pups, it just happend oke. And I know a lot of dogs get abused and all, but how do they end up in these homes? Is it not the people abusing the animals who decide to have a pet? If mr.Lunatic wants a dog he can get a dog, theres nothing any of us can do about that...
How about all the human kids that get abused? Should we also be fixed...

Go take a look on death row at your local pound. Then tell me how you can let it "just happen". You are the human. Take responsiblity. There is no excuse for bringing that many dogs into the world. Maybe your dogs found homes, but for every home your pups found, one more pound dog died.
Sorry if it seems I'm being harsh...maybe you didn't know any better. I volunteered at a shelter though and this stuff really gets to me. I'm leaving this thread....makes me too upset :rolleyes:

For any lurkers ..... please !! within 24 hours take your female in after a litter for the shot to expell any sacs, dead pups , fluids etc !!!

I learn so much from you Grammy :) I know a ton about horse breeding, but nothing about dog breeding. Lol, that's probably a good thing, right?
