I usually don't go into large retail stores. I prefer to support small local businesses, but today I had no choice but to go to wal-mart. Me and hubby were out of food and if we keep eating out every meal we are going to go bankrupt :p Anyways, so I went to wal-mart. I haven't been to a wal-mart in over a year, and going today, I realize why. Our local "super" wal-mart is under construction so ever aisle is unmarked and littered with cones and debris. It smelled like cement in there, and everyone else was just as lost as I was. As a result, we were all bumping into each other and running over small kids. It was a disaster. People are so rude there too...they absolutely refuse to get out of your way. When I went to check out with the little self check out thingy, the stupid machine froze on me so I had to gather all of my groceries and try again at another one. This time a lady with about twenty screaming kids cut in front of me. It took her forever to get all of her stuff scanned, meanwhile the kids were screaming bloody murder. To add insult to injury, when I got to my car, some nice person had obviously flung open their car door and left a nice big scratch on the side of my door. My car is a 2005 and previously was in perfect condition. I'm never going back to wal-mart....
aughhhh!!! :yikes:
*end of rant...sorry it got so long*

Hey, I hate Wal Mart too! Their employees are evil. I have some sympathy, (old Sam's going to he!l in my book for running a non-union store, among other sins) but there is no need to be that foul to customers. Shopping there is like shopping in a great big cement bunker crammed with people who, I am convinced, emerged from a hole in the ground that leads straight to he!!.

I with ya on this one!
You know Walmarts usually have cameras in thier parking lots. Might want to get ahold of security and see if maybe you can see who hit your car with thier door. Its worth a try!

We don't have Wal-marts in France, but I sympathise... I HATE Carrefour, I get claustrophobic in there and always come out with hundreds of things I don't need, and hardly any of the things I do need! I think I panic and randomly throw things into the trolley! Lol!

I like wal-mart, but then I grew up in a really small town. Going to super walmart at 2 in the morning was considered entertainment. *blushes* Can you tell I'm from a hick town?

I used to like Wal-Mart before it became a Supercenter. Now it's just a jumbled up mess, with patrons and workers alike being hateful. Always makes me wannna kick somebody's @ss everytime I go there to shop.

I agree with the people watching comment and when I was in college, it was good for entertainment, since everything else in that town closed at 9, including the liquor stores and movie theatre.

I don't shop there unless I have to, and even then I feel a little pain in my heart.

I love Wal Mart. *Sorry, but it's true.* They usually have some pretty cool stuff in their electronics section, pretty good dog treats/toys, cheap boxers/t-shirts and socks, milk is cheaper there as well. I agree that some of the customers that frequent Wal Mart do tend to get in the way (walking to slow, taking up the whole aisle, etc). However, I usually cut between the stuff that is in the middle of the big aisles and make it around and in front of the slow/annoying people before they know what's happening. :)
I've had one or two issues with a cashier being a little slow but that was because upper management wouldn't come help when they were asked OR because the customer did something that was taking extra long (rejected credit card, WIC *nothing against it, it just takes a long time*, etc).

Overall, I really enjoy Wal Mart and am sorry you (and those that dislike it) have had such bad experiences.

You wouldn't believe how many times me and my friends did that in college! :D It was usually quiet and you could mess with all the toys and electronic stuff. Plus, if you really needed to shop, you could wait all day then go when hardly no one was there. ;)

2 am is also the best time to go grocery shopping at HyVee. There's never a line and there's always a close parking spot!:D

I hate Walmart

I hate Walmart AKA Squalmart too! I would rather tak on an extra $20 to my grocery bill then have to shop there. It is ALWAYS crowded--you ALWAYS have to park far away the clerks are ALWAYS not helpful--the clothes are ALWAYS crap and there are ALWAYS screaming children and 500lb ladies in white stretch pants every time I go.

Guess this brings a whole new meaning to their "ALWAYS" signs and commercials.

My husband stocks chips for a living and HATES it there as well--he would rather do 10 Krogers than 1 Walmart--people always wander out in front of his cart and then look at him like he's rude for not getting out of their way. The other day I helped him at work and some lady asked if he worked there but he couldn't here over the loudness of the store and the crinkle of chip bags--she then yelled "I guess not then" in the snottiest tone available when he didn't answer..

Seriously grocery stores run better sales anyways on certain items..and I found bones in our meat (meat that is boneless) twice there.....

You aren't alone!! Lol. I've never been there at 2 am in the morning, but my friends and I DO go in there to just hang out and entertain ourselves. Usually by playing with balls, dancing to music in the electronics section, and just being the really dorky idiots that we are.
