Hi All...

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to what breeds are in my dog? It doesn't matter, but I'm kind of curious...

He's 8 months old (approx) and 33 pounds. Tons of pictures at:
http://hudsonthedog.blogspot.com

I've heard lab, sharpei, rottie, gsd, among other suggestions. He has a very wrinkly muzzle (picture towards bottom). He also has a silvery undercoat all around his neck, but that stops as you go down his back.

His temperament is incredibly sweet and affectionate to all. But, he does get very playful and nippy like any puppy. He doesn't bark - ever! Also, in 3 weeks he has never growled or bared his teeth at anything or anyone. He does try to chase pigeons and squirrels, though.

I see Shar-Pei, possibly some Lab and/or Doberman? There are quite a few breeds that would give the black/tan coloration. He's quite handsome whatever he is!

*Before I look at anyone else's replies.*

I say Sharpei/GSD mix...with a hint of dobe or rotti for coloring. :)

Thanks for the replies so far! I'm guessing people say shar-pei cause of the muzzle, right? Cause the tail could be lots of things...

I say Shar-Pei pretty much because of the muzzle and tail...the only other breed I see in there is a Doberman and possibly Lab, not breeds that have a similar tail.

He is gorgeous, by the way! :D

Thanks, folks... When I did some research into spotted tongues I found that the Chow thing is a myth. Apparently any dog can have some black on his tongue... even a purebred Lab. Can anyone confirm that?

OK his tail is over his back like a spitz/ other northerner... I thought the wrinkly mouth reminded me of my pit mix puppy, and there's a pic of him under a caption that says "stop pointing that flashy thing at me" that makes him look square enough to have some pit... the colors ... hmmm... the face may have had a bit of brindling on his forehead... so maybe the pit I thought I saw in him passed on a little brindle? I see a lot of dogs colored like his body that are called shepherd mixes, but it's so common... I dunno... I vote heinz 57/ all american dog, does that make me a quitter? ;)

Not the pure lab part, but I have what I beleive to be labxpit bull- with no possibility of chow in her, and she has black in her mouth-on her gums though-not her tongue... Heck I think my full pitty has black on her gums too... man this post is not real helpful is it... sorry!!

In that picture, I can see the Sharpei, deffinately.

In that one, I see maybe Shiba, or Akita, maybe Basenji?-possibly chow even...

There, I can definately see Rottie, maybe some lab

So I'd say Sharpei/Rottie/Lab, and some curly tailed breed like the one's listed. He is REALLY cute! :)

Oh yeah, maybe a northern breed, Huskies, Spitz, etc. that would give him that curly tail. Good idea.
