We use cloth part time (basically at home, during the day) and I love it. I'm hoping the next baby will be exclusively CD. The hardest part is getting dad and grandparents on board.

We started with sun baby pocket diapers, but honestly, prefolds are how I wish we went. We use both now. Prefolds are cheapest, IMO easiest, and most convenient to wash.

Go with aplix instead of snaps. Snapping a wriggly older infant into a one-size diaper is a nightmare. Second time around I'm doing all prefolds, with aplix covers. And idk anything about diaper sprayers, but I use a rubber spatula I keep under the bathroom sink to clean poopy diapers.

Yeah, the waste from disposables is horrifying. And we use disposables like 70% of the time, but our cloth still payed for themselves within 6 months.

Also, daycare is expensive and scary and today my cell phone went into the dogs water dish. Toddlers are hilarious. I'm still not pregnant again.

Oh gosh I'm such a snaps fan. They stay in such better condition long term based on everything I have seen and what all my friends say- and I think they look nicer :p Plus you don't have to prepare them as perfectly for the wash. But I know a lot of people like aplix!

Our bins only get taken fortnightly. Stinky nappies in the bin for 2 weeks is gross! I fully plan to buy disposables for emergencies and baby sitters and other occasions. Don't get me wrong... I just want to avoid them as much as I can.

I liked aplix when they were younger and could definitely get a better fit. However, my son started taking his diaper off once he was toddling around and then snaps were definitely my friend. I never had a problem with overnights, would just double stuff. THe brands and such have TOTALLY changed since I CD'ed lol....I really did like wool and had a blast knitting all kinds of longies and shorties:)

And yes, never minded doing CD laundry...not really sure why lol

We did cloth diapering a lot at home when Clive was younger. We mostly used AIOs. He (and we) loved them. No plans for a second, but if we did have another, I think we'd do mostly cloth diapering. So much more pleasant

Too funny- everyone I know loves their diaper laundry for some reason! It makes sense to me- because I love my cloth napkin, cloth paper towels, cloth TP laundry- but hate ALL other laundry.

What brand are you leaning towards Jessie?
We've already made the switch to cloth napkins and paper towels... and I like them SO much better than paper. I just have a little bin under the sink where I put the used ones, and then throw them in the wash... it's very easy.

Right now, I think I'm leaning towards mainly Bumgenius Freetime and Elemental, and Rumparooz AIOs. I'm doing a mix of aplix and snaps. I think the aplix will be so much easier when she's smaller, but I like the look of snaps (along with the durability) better. I've ordered so many different brands of cloth diapers so far to see what I like and what works best for us.

We will be using disposables occasionally (days out, trips, etc), but I want to use cloth 99% of the time. We have a couple of packs of Seventh Generation newborn diapers for the beginning, but I'm hoping to start putting her in cloth during her first week.

I can't use cloth paper towels etc... because cat and dog hair all over. Doesn't matter how often I wash them, that stuff just gets everywhere. I don't know how you do it, lol.

Today I talked to my doctor about TTC on medication, and she suggested I try switching first to something safer to get pregnant on, and then go off that after I conceive! I'm not sure why I didn't think of that, but I'm happy she did!

We officially switched Clive full time to his new daycare. He's thriving there and no more tearful handoffs in the morning. So refreshing! He will still have a month off, but will start again in August

Has anyone tried the amber teething necklaces? Do they seem to help?

Gabe is popping out teeth like a baby shark lately (8 in the past 2 months).

Also, how to dissuade teething babies from biting while they are nursing? I've tried lightly tapping his nose, and I've tried blowing gently in his face. He is surprised and stops the first time, but he tries again. Painful!

We have an amber teething necklace. I wouldn't bet it helps with the pain (although it might, she's not very fussy) but it seriously reduced her drooling during teething so that alone was worth it. Plus they're cute as heck.

I stopped breastfeeding before teeth, but general consensus of the mommy and me group is give them one warning "ouch!" Or "no!" Firmly, and if they bite again, end the nursing session. Put them down, turn away, etc. Repeat this until they realize biting = ending the nursing session.

I'm absolutely loving toddlerhood!

I don't like the trapped wind/stomach pains this baby causes me! Not sure what sets it off, but it HURTS!

In other news, apparently it can hear now :D so I'm gonna be talking to it a lot. And looking mad as I don't look pregnant at all. Just chunky!

Hannah had her first sleep over tonight with some friends in the neighborhood. They had a great time. Dress up, make up, hair chalk, movies, snacks, etc. only one crisis. The air mattress sprung a leak lol so we had to improvise. Moved the mattress onto the floor and piled up the boxspring with blankets to make it comfortable. We had to fit three girls and the bed itself is a single. It seems to be working out. They are sawing logs now lol.

How did she grow up
So much and so fast that we are now hosting slumber parties? Lol

16 teeth at a year and no complaints. Maybe she's just a good teether or maybe the necklace helped.

For biting, I agree with MM, though if I had said "ouch!" Ev laughed and thought it was a game. When she bit I would calmly tuck m breast away, calmly say "No biting, that hurts mama" and set her down on the floor. Then try again in a few minutes. Also, I took it as a sign that she was uncomfortable so I would give Advil.

I never really had to deal with biters but Cian did try it once or twice. But yes, basically a quick lesson in consequences, when you bite, the milk goes away. Keep it very calm and simple.

The amber necklaces, they did seem to work for me. Nothing miraculous or anything but kind of a steady low key influence.
