Will most hotels have a hairdryer in the room??

It's hit and miss. I would say most do, but I think I've stayed at one or two that didn't. It maybe I was blind and just didn't see it. I don't blow dry my hair, so I didn't look to hard. LOL

I might not pack one, and buy a cheapo travel one there..... Sorted!!!!!

In my experience, yes there is one. Often it's in a bag hanging on a hook or in a drawer in the bathroom. Cheaper hotels may not, though. Most of your major chains will.

As far as packing your own, don't forget a converter for the US plugs. They are different from the UK, aren't they?

I have 2 converters!!!

Well.. I'm not going to pack my hairdryer... :yikes:

I'm technically not packing now, I'm sat in bed..... Last minute dot com...

I imagine all hotels, even the very cheap ones have them, as do most motels (hostels will not). If you do stumble across a room without one, I'd ask the staff, as I've never been in a hotel without one.

I'e never been to a regular hotel/motel that didn't have one :). Now, if you are staying in a crappity crap place and it is broken...you may not get a replacement :p.
