Hey,

We have just registered in this forum and we would like to know your opinion about our situation. We have read the rules and we found out that the rule no 10 says that "There shall be only one member using each account". I would like to explain this situation and I would like to know your opinion before beginning.

My friend is an adult woman with Asperger syndrome. That's the reason why she's not writing by herself here. She tells me what she wants me to write and I write it for you. So she's actually all the time with me when I write to the forum. So my part of this is that I physically do what she cannot. So, this account is hers, not mine or ours. I just write here physically for her because she cannot do it by herself.

She also want to add that her disability doesn't mean that she is stupid or unable to do things. She is clever and can do things by herself.

She cannot write to this forum because she cannot talk/write to people that she doesn't know well in person. (For example: when we met, she couldn't talk to me either. It took few times that she said first words for me.) However, she is here with me. She sits next to me and says what I'll write for you.

It's hard to explain why, but when she ask someone to write somewhere for her (it's not only about forums), the message cannot be written in first person - instead of that, the message must be written in passive or in the third person. My friend has seen few threads where users ask help for someone else - we're talking about more than one thread. So is it a problem that I write for her? We would also like to know if it is a problem that we write about her/us and so on.

She told me to write in this forum because this forum seems nice and she needs advice on dog training because she doesn't have a person yet who could advice her. If needed, we can tell you more about her disability.

So, we would like to know your opinion now about this :)

I'm not a mod but I don't think there is any issue with you being the voice here on the forum for her so I would say feel free to continue doing so!

And welcome to the forum! Hopefully you'll get to know us all pretty well and we're all here willing and wanting to give any/all help we can.

And pictures if you have them would be great!

IMO this is an accessibility thing. It's quite a reasonable accommodation, no different than when I use text-relay to make phone calls. It's not even really two people using one account, one person is using the account and utilizing a second person to get the thoughts from her mind to the keyboard.

This pretty much. There are also quite a few members here who have autism as well.

Welcome to Chazhound forums, Eleonora!

As the others have stated, we look forward to hearing from you and your friend. What you're doing is great and, if nothing else, we love "service animals" here :D (no offense meant). Please participate and enjoy your time here.

Thank you for your kind answers :) We told in the previous message that: "My friend told me to write in this forum because this forum seems nice and she needs advice on dog training". We wrote then also to the dog training section if someone wants to help my friend, you may want to check it out :D

Welcome to Chazhound. I hope you and your friend enjoy your time here. It's a great place! I wouldn't think the mods would have any problem with what you're doing for your friend.

I would maybe recommend maybe placing something in your signature about helping your friend out by making the posts for her on Chaz just to prevent the inevitable remark about "Why don't your friend post her own questions?" by someone who hasn't read this post. For as awesome as 99 percent of Chaz members are, there is always that one black sheep who just doesn't have a brain-to-keyboard filter.

Others have already told us about this:

We can do what you have suggested as soon as we can. We can also discuss about her disability in the thread we just created: http://www.chazhound.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2360323#post2360323
