My washer i eating my clothes and it's pissing me off! I don't want to buy a new one till after I move so I know if I need gas or electric washer/dryer but I'm pretty sure I'm going to throw this thing out the window once I move.

Any ideas to get the washer to not eat my clothes?

I read 2018 and was like "what?!? That's like, 10 years into the future!!". Time is going by way too fast. I'm okay moving past this stage in my life, but I also don't want time to be moving that quickly.

I'm giving the lab practical to my students next week, and I'm already dreading the inevitable "wait I didn't understand the instructions what do you mean I don't get extra time to redo stuff at the end what no," from people. I don't know how to make the instructions any more clear.

Urgh.

This afternoon I was reading about the SAT changes and stuff, and how the last SAT changes were in 2005.
I took mine in 2002...

Good idea.

It's EXPENSIVE to keep having to replace pieces of clothing that is shredded.

I think I was the last year before they changed the SAT. I graduated in 05 and we took the old version of the SAT and ACT. I have no idea how the scoring works now.

Yeah I figured by 27 I'd have a house and be married and stuff. :/

Hopefully I'll get a house this year but I'm doubtful I'll ever get married at this point.

For a second, I was confused because I remember that the SAT changed the year I took it, and I remembered that clearly because I had to exchange most of my SAT prep books (because I think they also changed some aspects of the reading section as well?). Anyway, we definitely did not graduate the same year so I was really confused for a good ten minutes.

And then I remembered that I took the SAT in 7th grade .__. Oh my god I was such a nerd.

Yeah I figured by 27 I'd have a house and be married and stuff. :/

Oh, appropriately for a venting thread post, I always have these OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO DIE SINGLE AND ALONE anxiety attacks.

At age 20.

But at this point, I've never been interested in a guy enough for a long term relationship, and I'm beginning to think that the issue is me. Don't know if any of that will change in the next few years.

I came home today to another reminder of why I have major depression problems...
Which is also the reason I'm still working on finishing school. At least by next may I'll be far enough along to get a job in my field and move off this god forsaken island.

Not all it's cracked up to be.

Married - husband's job took us 600 miles from friends and family. Now the future of that job is not looking super great

Bought a house - just dropped $400 today to replace a part on the boiler so we could have heat.

Everybody keeps telling me not to give up on the marriage thing yet. Of course these are all people who are either married or in long-term committed relationships. It's really easy to give that kind of advice when you're sitting so comfortably. Not so easy when you're in the trenches too. Because down here it looks like s*$& doesn't it?

At this point I feel like Charlotte from Pride & Prejudice. The next guy who saunters in that I'm attracted to, BOOM, done, let's get married. Don't care. I have just as much of a shot of being happy with him as the next guy and at least he'll be hot.

I need to reschedule my missed doctor's appt. However, my workplace switched our insurance two days before the first of the month. No info on which insurance company, no paperwork yet, although I'm certain they'll be taking money out of my paycheck for it. I cannot make a doctor's appt with no insurance info:mad:

Yeah..I'm not even overtly concerned with the relationship part of my life, although that sucks as much as any other part, but I'm starting to freak out about the '26 and still living with my mother' part. Sad thing...I CAN afford a small rent payment. I cannot afford to rent a standalone house here, can barely afford to rent a shitty apartment, and need a standalone house/cottage/bungalow with a yard for the dogs.

Am I the only that notices a huge amount of serious dog ladies are single.. no idea if they are single because dogs, or if they got into dogs because single, or if they got into dogs and just kept themselves occupied enough with them not to care about a guy in their life.... :rofl1:

There was this episode on Everybody Loves Raymond where Robert meets this girl, he falls in love, she brings him back to her place and she has a million frogs (in cages!) all over her house. Just obviously a frog..enthusiast? :p And I'm watching this thinking well, what's so bad about that? And Robert freaks out and everybody thinks she's super weird because frogs so I think Robert decided not to see her anymore. So I think about that episode all the time because well.. accurate, for me and dogs :p. We are in a society though where it's weird to be 'really' into something that isn't 'mainstream' like sports or cars or something.
Alright I need to stop typing. :rofl1:

I don't blame the dogs for getting here, LOL. There's an awfully thin line between "I don't need to worry about dating, it's fine! I have plenty of time!" and "OH **** I'M HOW OLD?" So much for the LOLOLOLOL IT HAPPENS WHEN YOU'RE NOT LOOKING FOR IT because I spent years not looking for it or worrying about it or caring. Dating guys just for fun, not because I thought there was necessarily any future there. Bailing out of a relationship because the guy wanted to get married and I wasn't ready to marry him. **** do I wish I could take that backsies, hahaha.

But it's definitely an obstacle now, not because of the dogs themselves but because my lifestyle is such a challenge. I have to find somebody who's game to travel a lot. To... dog shows. Otherwise I'm gone a lot, always on the weekend which is when we normally have most of our time together, and that is not a recipe for relationship success. =P Also, after the first year-ish with Auggie, I traveled by myself most of the time - but now with Georgie my mom is going with me. So it's like... let's go on a dog vacation! With my mom! Yay? My mom said she's not going to be as competitive as I am with Georgie but so far every trial I've asked about she's said yes to... I miss going off by myself, just me and my boys. =P

The weird thing is my "high class" friends all actually think the dog stuff is really cool and are the first ones to bring it up and brag on my dogs to people I don't know, while I'm over there like "I was totally just cool talking about the food here and alcohol..." Maybe it's because they all have advanced degrees and high salaries and I'm their charming redneck friend or something so they want to be like "Isn't she cute? She has all these dogs who do cool things and she likes THE COUNTRY and being OUTSIDE. Isn't that adorable??" That makes it sound like they're doing it in a derogatory way LOL and they aren't. They genuinely think it's cool. It's so weird. Especially when, like, my friend who has only ever told me he thinks my dogs are scary because they're small and he's afraid of small dogs tells somebody about how badass and really talented Auggie is. WHO ARE YOU??

My redneck friends don't care LOL. We never talk about the dogs. Nobody feels like they need to introduce me and then my dogs. Usually it's "she's a trainer at $work-place" by way of that's how I know this group of people, then we move on. I don't know why it's so different. =P

How is that a problem? If you're not finding anyone who you're interested in, your choices are to date someone you don't like or to not date. Not dating is cheaper and gives you way more free time. Wait until you find someone you're passionate about - everything else will fall together after that.

I'm going to also tell you not to give up on your dreams. Evaluate them and why they mean what they mean to you, though.

I don't think option B is a bad idea. . . well, don't immediately marry him. Date for a while first. Or. . . ride him like a pony for a while. Or use dating as a euphemism for RHLAP.

Grrr... Dr thinks I tore my rotator cuff. So that means no skiing for a while. Sad. I am starting physio on Mondays Because of my shoulder I am not sleeping very well as the stupid thing keeps waking me up and the dr. Won't give me any meds to numb the pain a bit so I can sleep. Grrr... Good news is I have an ultra sound in a few weeks to see what's going on. Bad news is if it's tore bad i might have to see a surgeon. Took some t1s because extra strength Advil is not cutting it, well the T1s are helping a bit, but I can't sleep because of the caffeine in the pills.

More crummy news it's all through WBC. I hate WBC hopefully they are nice to me.

Lengthly dental vent.

Ever since sometime last year, I've had almost nonstop dental work done. This is largely due to my ignoring my oral health badly for a number of years, on top of having bad genetics.

So, a year later we have three root canals, two crowns, and several fills under our belts, most of them on the left side. Then the dentist sees that I have intense gum inflammation, so he prescribes chlorhexadine gluconate for three weeks.

The ENTIRE three weeks the left side of my face hurts, primarily a tooth he filled several weeks prior that had been experiencing some sensitivity. We're talking bouts of intense pain, that hovers between the top and bottom areas of the left side of my face. This is also a concern because I'm a longtime TMD sufferer, and I'm sure that isn't helping matters.

So I go back in today and he pokes about. The good news is the rinse worked like a charm, but the bad news is he couldn't find the source of the pain. At all. No signs of infection, no questionable spots on the tooth. Some exposed dentin, but that shouldn't be cause for such intense pain.

So he sends me home, suggesting that the rinse might have set something off. To use Sensodyne for two weeks and pop Advil when needed.

And, well, it's 3:40am. I'm wide awake with throbbing pain radiating across the left side of my jaw. Ibuprofen is doing nada.

My dentist has been great this entire time, but I'm seriously considering a second opinion at the current moment.
