Exactly. Never, ever, EVER make something due at midnight. Never knew of anyone to make much of an issue with anything before morning though, unless they really wanted to grade at 1 am.

I always made things due "some time on 3/8" and then wouldn't care as long as I had it in my box when I graded sometime on 3/9.

Ok how is "Her reaction is nothing short of amazing, and it brought tears to my eyes" shown in this video? A family member posted this on facebook and I of course had to put my two cents in (yeah, stupid me to argue with family >_<). She posted the video saying "Watched it twice, YOU can't tell me an animal does not feel love." and "I saw love and joy" from the dog. IDK, I'm not the best at reading body language, but to me the dog seem scared/overwhelmed/unsure/conflicted. IDK, maybe it's just me, but I'm not seeing the love.

And she's already a bit PO'ed at me because my boyfriend responded to her snide comment about Talon in a less than appeasing manner, which I don't blame him for.

She thinks she knows all to know about dogs (not like I've ever been accused of that! ) with her Cesar Millan loving, dominance style, intact dog hating, rescue forever, you are killing dogs by buying from a breeder mentality. I've never ONCE said anything about her ways of training her dogs (alpha rolls, "tssst" etc) and I've never condemned her for any of it. But the moment she finds out Talon's intact and will possibly stay that way I'm the devil reincarnate. Ok, not that bad, but still, her tone has just completely changed to me. ARGH, frustrating.

I think the TA is a little power trippy and taking her job way too literally and seriously! Sheesh. I'd go to the instructor and tell him/her the whole sich.

Why yes totally wanted to go to work today on 2 hours of sleep while still sick.

Insomnia sucks.

Woke up this morning and thought it was a bit cold. Walked past the thermostat on my way outside and went "hmm, that's odd, it's normally warmer than that at 6". Grabbed my gloves off the radiator, "hmmm, they're normally warm and toasty". Turns out the boiler is heating water, but not pumping it through the radiators. Lovely. We cancelled our service contract with the oil company last month and just haven't gotten our ducks in a row enough to get a new one in place, or replace the 30 year old beast. We took turns calling around to find someone who was willing to come out and look at it, and finally found someone.

It's cold in here now, but someone should be around between 1 & 3 to look at it.

I keep looking at job vancancies but not applying because I don't feel qualified or good enough to even try for them! Also for the majority of them I would have to move. While that wouldn't be a bad thing I have no idea of where even to start and the thought of looking after myself and sorting my own finances is terrifying. I'm also half way through my 2 year course at college and without it I really don't have much in the way of qualifications and no chance of getting into university if I change my mind which means I'll always be stuck in lower paying jobs.

I just feel so stuck and unsatisfied with where I am in my life right now. It seems like everyone else I know is preparing to go to university this fall and I'm not. I'm stuck still living at home even though I'll soon be 19. I really really don't want to live at home any more. I've always planned on moving out as soon as I was 18 and I'm still here.

I just feel so panicked with where I am in my life. I feel like I should be somewhere and I'm just … not there yet. I'm happy at home and I get on ok with my family I just don't want to be here any more. I also feel like a burden on my family because I'm not even making enough money to be paying rent to them and although they're incredibly supportive and would never push me to pay rent or move out I know it would be a help to them if I could.

I've bitten off more than I can chew this week. on top of all our regular duties (homeschool lessons, my job at the preschool, Co op and getting everything ready to teach my class, gymnastics, Awana, worship practice etc) I've also taken on a number of other projects. We have a Coffee house outreach event coming up at church and since Brian and I are the heads of the outreach committee... that means I have a ton of stuff on my plate trying to get everything finalized and ready to go.

My mother in law's 60th birthday is on Monday and we can't be there with her but wanted to do something special so Hannah is writing her a story. It's very cute and she's doing a great job with it but she can't do it on her own with the way she wants to do it. It's 12 pages from cover to cover complete with her own illustrations and we are trying to get it finished and mailed out in time. Although I did warn MIL that it may be a day or two late lol.

Then hubby's aunt messages me on Sunday and wants me to make a full jewelry set for my MIL as a gift from his aunt (she's paying for the set of course) and even though I really have little wiggle room in my schedule this week... I said yes. Thankfully I completed the set this morning.

I also now have to work Friday morning for in service day (fancy word for cleaning the classroom day lol) and Saturday morning for our fundraiser pick up. Hannah has a make up class for gymnastics on Saturday at 11:30.

Sunday after church we have our final meeting before the coffee house and then the rest of the week we'll be getting everything set up for that and do the final coordinating with the acts and everything.

My hands are KILLING ME. I don't know why... probably too much cutting and jewelry making and everything else. They haven't had a break and my right palm is so sore and my hand is swollen.

To top it all off... Brian is now sick. We are just praying it's a cold and not he flu or strep but he's aching all over, running a fever and his throat is really sore. Also praying it doesn't spread through the house. The last thing I have time for is to be sick. BLECH!!!!!

With everything on my plate, I'm not sleeping well which just makes everything worse. I need a vacation lol

This video should be used in body language training classes for extreme submission and calming signals. I really do not like the way it's being as "dog is so happy to see owner!!" No, dog is completely and utterly freaked out because she's been lost and running amok for 7 months.

Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad they found their dog but this video totally misrepresents the situation.

I don't see "love" per say, but I do see the conflict. However, Cynder does something extremely similar when she finally is back with Michael after a long absence. She whines and cries and dances, then shows extreme conflict when he's around because she is SO worried he's going to leave again...and while I don't think a dog's love and a human's love are quite the same emotion in terms of complexity, she loves Michael. So I guess my point being, in this case, the conflicted behaviors the dog is offering is, IMO, due to the fact she does "love" her owner that much and is worried about being "left" again. If that makes sense.

Eta: I also don't think Cynder response is the most healthy response, either. In fact, we're still trying to get her megaE back to "normal" as the high stress and anxiety she felt the first few days with Michael being around again threw her for a loop. Now that her anxiety is slowly improving as she's realizing he's coming back home every day she's improving.

I see a lot of lip licking, head turning, avoiding eye contact, lowered head, tucked tail...I mean I am no "expert" but those don't exactly scream love and happiness and rainbows to me.

Then again, the dog was probably overwhelmed and stressed from the past few months, and being in a shelter situation can't exactly be the easiest for her. So there very well could be "love" there, but the dog isn't ignoring the stress to display it.

*Shrugs* I've stopped commenting on dog things on FB unless someone asks me to. Most of the time it's stuff like this where people are horribly misreading and getting ridiculously sappy over it.

I think it's at the very end of the video when the dog realizes they are leaving and taking her with them that you really see happiness. When he's standing and she is on her hind legs with her front feet up on his hip and when he puts the leash on her and they head to the door and she's wagging her tail and looking up at him with excitement. Of course she was scared... but at the end when she knew they were leaving, I could see happiness there.

I ordered Jimmy Johns for lunch -- they just pulled in the driveway, I went to the door and they sped away!! What a tease! Now I'm disappointed that I already gave them a $5 tip on my $8 order

I'll be done with college next year... and it is such a relief to be DONE. Now everyone is asking me, what I want to do for a Masters. I'm not even sure, I want to do a Masters. I'm not even sure my grades will be good enough to get into a masters programm...

I'll be 24 when I'm done with my bachelors, 26 if I do a Masters, I feel like I should actually have a life by then and not be fresh out of school.

The applying for a masters is sky rocketing my anxiety so much that I can't sleep at night.

Sometimes waiting sucks, especially if it is for something you really want. 4-7 more months, I don't want to wait that long.

I bit the **** out of the side of my mouth the other day. And now it is super sore and swollen, which makes it impossible for my molars to not catch it. My whole jaw is starting to stiffen up.

I hate this. So bad.

I know how you feel. I'm graduating with my bachelors this spring, at 23. Everyone basically assumes that I'm going onto my masters, but I really don't want to .. I'm not sure I can handle another couple years of intense schooling. It used to really stress me out, but then I opted to do a graduate diploma program, so I get that sort of practical schooling in addition to my academic degree. And it's not going to be as intense as my undergrad which I am really looking forward to! Bring on Sept!

My washer i eating my clothes and it's pissing me off! I don't want to buy a new one till after I move so I know if I need gas or electric washer/dryer but I'm pretty sure I'm going to throw this thing out the window once I move.

Any ideas to get the washer to not eat my clothes?
