What happened to trick of the week? Kili and I need something new to work on. We're just about caught up on stuff. Also I like watching other people working on stuff too! Someone come up with something fun that they've been dying to work on!

My friend has noticed that there are weekly trick threads here. Can one put also instructions and tutorials? My friend has chekced only a few of them but they don't include actual instructions. However, my friend would need them herself. We tried to ask about one of them in our own trick thread. (That our thread is mostly for them who don't already have a thread.) This is the trick: http://www.chazhound.com/forums/showthread.php?t=247358 There are two reasons why my friend asked me to ask about it in our thread:
1) My friend thought that one could not write there anymore because the other thread would be too old for that.
2) There are no actual instructions there. Those videos that are there, do not show all the stages.

Should we move my friend's questions to that existing thread?

When you create a thread for the next trick, can it be something easy? My friend has nothing special on mind. Note: tricks where the dog should for example carry something cannot be teached to my friend's dog Lotta yet.

This forum is mostly run by conversations. We bounce ideas off of each other, ask questions and discuss. Very few threads are made, especially with dog training, with step by step instructions. It's hard to do that in dog training because people on here tend to train a variety of ways and there is no one size fits all. Troubleshooting though is something we can all help with.

That being said, you guys would get a lot better response if you posted in the actual Trick of the Week Frog thread, it's not against any rule (written or unwritten) to resurrect a long dead thread. So maybe post in that thread exactly the trouble that she's having training it, what she's tried and what happened when she tried it that way.

And the trick of the week threads, when done, tend to be tricks that can be made easy or hard. We have a lot of people on this forum who all need the various stages so we try to make the threads something everyone can participate in by making the trick more complicated (Like backwards leg weaves) to easier (like normal leg weaves).

I just think you guys would be happier and get farther on this forum if you stopped trying to make it conform to something more rigid. We're not good at that here :rofl1:

But seriously, don't be afraid to go on any older thread and ask the questions you want to ask! And a video of how you've been trying to train frog would help a ton too in that thread, that way people can get a visual for the issues you're having.
