He looks so mature, and yet somehow still really puppyish. Very cute!

Might want to trim that ear hair. Then his ears will look spectacular. :3

Great shots!! So we'll be getting even more Merlin photos from now on, right? Really cool that you have Alexis' camera, I've always loved the quality of her photos.

Very cool. I noticed the nose seems to be the focus on a lot of them, I think they'd be even better if you made an eye the focus and then re-composed the shot before taking. But that's my personal taste when using a shallow depth of field. The shots are awesome regardless.

He is my forever puppy! lol
as for the ears, I've never trimmed them lol don't know how and I figure they add character.
He's had goofy ears since he was a baby

THANKS :D

He is such an adult sometimes it's scary. Sometimes I feel like he is even growing a brain... he is starting to sniff food that's fallen on the ground before immediately eating it lol

I'm hoping for lots more pictures!
and hoping some of the talent rubbed off lol

He's such a handsome doggy!
Thanks! He knows it.

whatever you're doing is working :) They are really great pics and I'm not sure what kind of camera you got, but I'm pretty sure it has a lot of capabilities that you'll grow into.

I have a canon so your camera might be different. For shots like that, I like to use the focus mode "one shot", pretty much anything not moving is shot with "one shot" for myself. Everything else is AI Servo so it can track and focus on moving objects. It has another setting, but I never use it. I find these two do everything I need.

That way I can point the little red dot at the eye, get focus and then move the camera to recompose the shot and get everything in that I want (I do all zooming and things before I focus though). That way you can point the camera and focus on something that and then move it to get everything in the shot you want. Rather than compose your shot, press the focus and it picks whatever focus point you've chosen (usually the middle for a lot of people and it focuses on whatever the middle focus point is on, ie the nose).

It just gives you a bit more control, and sometimes, the nose is what you want to focus on, because those pictures obviously work very well, but it also will allow you to compose a similar set up, a lot of different ways if that makes sense????

I suck at explaining things, but i try :)

anyway, can't wait to see more!
