In case you are having trouble reading that... it says lows in the 20's and a wind chilld of 5 to 15 degrees.

WHAT?! Not to mention that tomorrow, I'll be in the stadium for a soccer game. I just might freeze to death.

(I know, I know... I'm being a baby:p But come on, I live in Florida - this is NOT supposed to happen here!:lol-sign:)

That is t-shirt and shorts weather! :D

However, if I was in your place, I'd be upset, too. Florida is supposed to be warm!

Yeah, we have about 4 warnings out for the county. One of them is specifically geared toward the vegetation and livestock.

Also, the windchill factor has changed to 0-10 degrees. Yay.

Lol it's 42 out there right now and I don't even want to share how many layers I have on (not to mention I'm at work, in a heated building :p)

Yeah, we are not as bad as some of you guys here...we are supposed to get up to 0 today to go with the 10" of snow from yesterday and (which makes cleaning the roads SO much fun). Right now its -6 with feels like -28. I really really hope my chickens and ducks are doing ok :(

Yeah last week we were almost 70 and high of 20 the next. Ahh, weather, you fickle fickle beast

THat was what I was wondering about, the crops and critters.:( Not being prepared for it can be tragic.

Yes, the crops are a big concern I am sure in Florida.

I am really glad we got snow first, hoping it insulates all the new plants I put in. Figures the year I do the biggest (and latest in the season) perennial garden expansion we get the coldest weather in decades.

Sass, did you see Friday?!!?!?!? HEAT WAVE!! I'm making snow angels in my bikini that day.
This winter has been an emotional rollercoaster between "dangit, it's too cold to take the dogs out" to "NOOOOO IT'S TOO WARM THE SNOW IS MEEEELLTTTYYYY!" :/

I just had to laugh at this.

Since it's going to be so cold out, the schools are going to be closed tomorrow.

Us Floridians really are wimps:rofl1:

lol

we were getting made fun of for our schools being closed last week (its colder now) but that was because after the break the buses wouldnt start because they sat too long and the schools heat wasnt turned on it time so some of the building were 40 degrees inside at the time school was supposed to start.

Here in Ottawa, schools pretty much NEVER close. The one exception in my lifetime that I know of was the ice storm of 1998. 1998. And that's because no one had power and they couldn't waste generators on schools. :rofl1: It can be -45 C here and schools remain open.

Busses get cancelled in inclement weather though, and that usually means those that do go to school get do do crafts and other fun stuff since the day is usually a write-off. I lived in walking distance of my elementary school, I loved going to school on snow days. :D
