The SO and I got a 50€ Amazon gift card, and we'd like to get something cool for the kitchen, but we have no idea what. :p

So, what kitchen gadget do you love that we should absolutly have. :p

The ones I use regularly are the keurig and the George Forman grill, as well as my ninja blender and kitchen aid mixer.

The only other thing we use much is the juicer, but unless you're into drinking kale carrot parsley juice, it might not be for you.

Things what I likes:

My hand held whizzer! For soups and the like.

My mini blender, chopper thing!!

Casserole dishes! Nice ones. I'd like a nice cast iron one really.

Herb chopper. Got one for Xmas!

A REALLY good knife set. Good knives are amazing.

A nice pan set... Gotta have good pans.

I like my smoothie maker too, but not half as much as the above. Not even half!!

I love my large glass pickle jars, but I keep rice and pasta and stuff in mine!! They look cool and store food great.

Slow cooker!!!! Brilliant inventions.

A steamer! We use ours every day for steaming green veg. Ours goes on the hob.

A good salt and pepper grinder set!! I like proper ground stuff.

I could go on.... Can you tell I like food?!

Eta, another cool tool is the poach pods!! If you like poached eggs ;) mmmm!

Blender would be my choice, definitely. It's sorta irreplaceable once you have it.

And Keurig. K model, not the Vue.

You. Don't. Have. Keurigs. I even bought a camping coffee press that uses K-cups (this after finding out you can't run a regular Keurig off a car battery).

My most-used appliances are my meat slicer, dehydrators (I have two, one for dog treats, one for human treats), blender, crock, microwave and flat electric grill. Oh yeah, and a decent electric can opener. So I'm really not big on cooking.

In my opinion, if it's a gift it should be used on something that's not an essential. Like a dehydrator, nostalgia popcorn popper or a slushie maker.

Oooo A popcorn-popper :D Thats something I hadn't thought about. :p
SO liked the idea of a blender... mostly because (I) can make smoothies with it. He doesn't like the idea of cleaning it though. :p

We have something similar to a keurig. :) We actually own one, but it's down in the basement, because we decided that it produces too much trash as appossed to our pad one, since the pads can be thrown on the compost. :)

Ah, comparable to a Tassimo. We only use the K-cups with our Keurig for the specialty flavoured coffees, it comes with a filter thing so you can use regular coffee. So it's still filter coffee, but one cup at a time so you're not wasting as much. Yes I DO take my coffee habit this seriously, LOL!

Reminds me, I'm out of Coffee Mate.

If you get a blender, make sure it's one that's powerful enough to grind ice. Mine was supposed to be, but doesn't, blah. Makes a neat looking vase though.

I'd be lost without my Keurig and my Kitchen Aid mixer. A much smaller but super handy appliance is my Cuisinart mini food processor. It only holds maybe 2 cups.

Sadly any kind of kitchenaid appliance is totally out of the questions. They are SOOO expensive here. The mixer costs like 300€ and the actual kitchenaid 650€. :p

I love my Keurig as well lol, we have a bunch of little reusable filters, very rarely do we use an actual k-cup. But I agree about the tassimo, soo much waste and no options to not make waste with it.

My favourite popcorn maker is the pot ones with the crank in the handle, suck good popcorn!

My vote goes for an immersion blender. Perfect for making soups, sauces and you can make smoothies, just instead of ice, use frozen fruit!

I really love my crock pot (once I got a nice big one with the removeable stonewear insert)...it is nice to come home to dinner being pretty much ready. I use mine all the time, but crock pots seem to be the kind of thing you either always use or never use, and if you never use them they suck up space!

I also like the rice maker. And yes, the popcorn popper (mine is a hot air popper, which I like..talk about easy to clean...of course then I butter and salt my popcorn...LOL!

I HATE my blender. But would likely love it if I invested in a higher end model that I could actually make a frozen daquiri or pina colada in...
