The Winter Semester Thread!

I don't care that the Fall Semester Thread fizzled out... let's get the winter up and rolling!

I've got Cellular Bio and a 150 algebra core class. Should be a good semester. Algebra will be a cinch and I'm excited for Cellular Bio as it is a relevant jump start to my program!

I have surgery and anesthesia, comprehensive review, and large animal medicine.

LAST THREE CLASSES!

I hear that large animal is kind of like torture. I'm not very excited for that one. I'd really rather take Lab & Exotics again.

But, final semester of classes for me (for the second time). So, hooray!

Urrrggghhhhh....

The goats are hilarious, though.

This semester mine is:

Physics II (Heat Optics/Waves) (I'm taking the lab next semester because I don't have room in my schedule)
Strength and Materials
Calc III
Engineering Graphics 2


I've got 18 credits this semester :yikes: I can take 12-18 credits for a regular cost, but when I take 19+ the extra credits over 18 you pay extra for and have to get permission from your adviser. So instead of taking the extra 1 credit lab for the Physics 2 I am taking it next semester. It's going to be a busy semester for me for sure, I'm determined to get my GPA back up from 2.95 to over 3.0

That must be exciting to be the last semester!!

So basically learning to be a line cook.

My semester is actually called Spring semester lol, and starts in like, of god, five days. I'm so not prepared for this, and I'm only taking three classes, but it's a total of 12 hours. I'll be in class from 5 to 10 pm MTWR (hahahaha, I hate that Thursday is R) and I'm taking Math this semester which I SUCK AT and HATE WITH A FIERY PASSION. Part of my automotive class is electrical work, so seeing as my dad is an electrical engineer with like, four degrees in electrical engineering, I'm hoping he can help me with that lol.

But I'm finally going to college! Whoo!

Ugh I don't wanna. I have to go back on Monday.

I'm supposed to graduate in April but I think I might have to take another half credit so it might end up being June. Waaaah. Going to my registrar as soon as I can and sorting out all the nitty gritty credit distribution things. University is such a headache.

Two of my classes were year long (American politics and a literature course), and now I'm picking up a media studies course and another literature course. At this point, I just wanna get 'er done. I'm so ready to graduate.

I actually get to be in a classroom this semester, which makes me excited

I have Intro to Human Anatomy, Intro to microtechnique, and ugh, math.

No classes this semester because I'm FINISHED!:banana::banana:

Just waiting on getting a call or email for my internship. Fingers crossed it'll be soon!

I dropped all the classes I was enrolled in for this semester, and filled my schedule with classes for a General Studies degree. Eff it, I give up, I can't do a standard degree where I have to be on campus. It's over an hour away, I'm too busy. I'll be done in the summer. I will have to see where life takes me, I'd like to pursue something more specific for a Bachelor's degree, but I don't know what.

Well, first week is done! Had my first lab yesterday for Bio and I LOVED it! So fun. I'm really stoked for that class, even though it will be hard.

Math is meh. Just a requirement. I went up to precalc in high school, so it shouldn't be too hard.

My last semester in my bachelor's!

I opted to only take 2 courses.

1. ARTH 432 Seminar on Cult of the Saints, Relics & Pilgrimage
2. ARTH 445 Film and the City in in relations to India

I'm super excited for this semester. I'm taking an online math course that I was really worried about, but honestly I'm finding that sitting here and reading the book and working through the new material is actually EASIER for me than trying to absorb it in the classroom. Never would have thought THAT was gonna happen! I think it just allows me to work at my own pace.

I'm also taking my first Histo course. This is me: :banana: :banana: :banana:

And then anatomy. I'm good at memorization and I took med term last semester. And my professor is super laid back, and I just think it's going to be a good class.

So yeah, bring it on!

Finished my first week, thought it wasn't a full week.

I feel like I'm in remedial math, even though it's not. There's not a single thing on the syllabus that I didn't rock on the placement test. Oh well. It'll boost my GPA and it's only two days a week.

I am LOVING the automotive class! It's awesome, the teacher is awesome, the stuff we're studying in Intro is boring safety stuff, but this semester is going to rock.

Just finished my first week and it was tough! I have taken all of my required classes that had nothing to do with my major and now it is all art classes from here on out, but don't let anyone fool you that art classes are easy. I'm taking 2d design, Computer graphics and layout, Renaissance art history, and ancient egyptian art class. Let me tell you 2d design and Computer Graphics is kicking my tail. Both classes has given more than four hours of homework, with 2D design homework taking several days and several hours. I am preparing for a very busy semester!

Kind of winter semester related?

I am going Monday to talk with a pharmacist about completing my internship at his pharmacy!

Soooo nervous and excited at the same time! It's not even an interview, just going to discuss possibly completing it there.

I really would like learn in this pharmacy so.... fingers crossed!

I am LOVING my automotive class!!! I stayed an extra 2.5 hours after we were told we could go just to learn more stuff! I wouldn't do that with my math class lol, but with Automotive it's AWESOME. I'm so glad one of my hobbies is actually something I can turn into a profitable job and make me more marketable in the field.

I mean, people are ALWAYS going to need mechanics, and certified mechanics make WAY more than people who are just parts changers, which is what I was before I started taking classes. The difference in pay is astounding. (average 30 dollars an hour vs 9 to 10!!!!!)

Love, love, love Cellular Bio. So interesting. First exam is on Wednesday and I'm not dreading studying for it! Lol.

Math is meh. I'm behind a little since I haven't been able to do the online stuff (internet gets setup Monday at home). Teacher is ALL over the place. Oh well.

BUT BIO IS GREAT!

I had my first histo lecture and lab and ermahgerd, it was amazing. I know this may be premature as well as sounding ridiculous, but after just one lab I'm so very sure that this is what I was meant to do.

Also, there are a whopping 2 people starting my program this semester. As in, I will have every class with this one other person Fortunately she seems really nice.

During lab we got to play with a microtome, and not to toot it, but I made about 25 slides while the other student in the lab made 3 of them. And I had so much fun doing it! We also got to go exploring through the tissues in the lab. We got to play with everything from breast tissue, to lungs, to hearts, to testicals, to brains. It was so, so cool!

I'm super sad that next Monday we have the day off

I'm planning on going back to school in the next year or so.

Someone tell me it isn't scary and way different than high school. Please?
