:yikes: titles? health testing? puppies that will grow to poop gold? I'm sorry I just don't understand this price on dogs that are unhealth tested, proven, don't show, pups aren't leaving cropped, with a breeders first litter and a dam that has never had a litter at all.
But..but...the Am Bully world doesn't require any of that nonsense. Just a youtube video of the breeding and you're good to go!

Before the breed is just so much of a genetic mess that people will stop buying them.
Oh that'll never happen. If you visit any of the major Bully forums (there was one enormous one awhile back that is no longer online, and you could literally sit and refresh the page, and have breeding upon breeding, puppy and adult for sale scroll by at a fast and steady pace), not only do the majority of American Bully breeders not believe in health testing or have any interest in being educated about health issues, but a well-known dog that drops dead at a young age brings in even MORE cash as people flock to use them and their lines, regardless of what killed them (and most of the time, they don't know, because they chalk it up to "how nature intended" and wash their hands of it).

When I google this breed ..they look horribly disproportionate. Is that the 'look' the breed is going for? I'm not trying to be offensive but it's not that I don't find the breed cute (I dislike the looks of a lot of established breeds. To each their own on that one), it's that I find them conformationally horrifying. I looked up Beastro& that cannot be a long lived, sound dog?? Some of the less extreme don't seem quite so terrible but some of them are just horrifying.

I can tell you that LoLa is heavily related to both those dogs. She has some of the worst conformation ever. She had a kinked tail that was docked at birth which caused nerve problems in her spine. She has a deformed dew claw that bugs her, she has color dilution alopecia, a bad knee, we're assuming a bad elbow and best of all...her breeder wanted a litter from her. Even worse is that she is better our together at most and I've been told she fails at being bully enough, not enough bone and mass. Maybe she does.

My point is, it's breeders like Frost that are continually pumping out puppies like this or contributing to it. Look at Columbia Basin Bullies, it's who has Kittys 2 puppies from her first litter and is Frosts kennel partner. Frost talks a big game but at then end of the day she's a BYB.

From the CBB website -

Deposits taken once puppies reach 2 weeks old.
That's at least better than "Give me deposits nao for puppies that haven't been bred yet!11!!1"

I'm just glad UKC separated pitbulls and American bullies to prevent more contamination to pitbulls.

And still, unfortunately, most of them breed and sell their dogs with UKC American Pit Bull Terrier papers, because UKC hasn't actually forced the issue. "Yet," hopefully.

courtney you are not my friend, you never have been, so im very curious where you are getting all this info about who ARE my friends and who are not. you dont know anything about me, youve never met me, we've never spoken or hung out. yet youre willing to pull **** out your ass that lauren is my PARTNER? stfu. you know nothing

to everyone else, cut the hostility and sarcasm. i dont ****ing need your approval for my breeding, and i didnt ask for, nor am i saying or doing any of the things you are claiming im saying. if thats the way you want to go about it, lumping everyone under the same blanket statements, putting words in my mouth, then **** off. pretty sure that giving 3 puppies away for free, spaying after 1 breeding, and doing health testing already shows im not in it for "TEH MONIEZZ" like you think. just stop. i love my dogs, i love these breed, im not going to destroy something i care about even if you assholes think its not worth caring about. so **** off.

I think they're ugly looking dogs, but I like my dogs to be able to run around and jump and generally be lively and fun...

Same goes for why I'd never own a bulldog or Pekingese or other breed like that.

I don't really understand it, the websites are all geared up as status dogs rather than actual interest in the dogs. It's all about the status....

I think if frostfell is genuinely trying to breed sound healthy dogs, and change things in the breed for the better, then all power to her... I've not been convinced of that in this thread yet.

Frostfell, in all seriousness with no sarcasm whatsoever... can you not see how the statements "I love this breed, I'm not going to destroy something I care about" and "there's nothing that would be dealbreaker" [for breeding, on a dog that hasn't had any health testing yet] are contradictory?

I'm curious, what is it that you love about this breed? And what do you see as "improving" the breed?

You certainly don't need anyone's permission to breed, but really did you think no one would have anything to say about it, given the culture of this board?

If she's a great dog and has zero things that could possibly pop up that would be a deal breaker why are you spaying after only one litter?

The only hostility I really see is coming from you, swearing at people, telling them to STFU and calling everybody who is questioning your breeding "assholes." Go find the thread where people were asking SaraB and Linds questions about their potential breeding plans with the koolies and contrast how differently they responded to people being blunt and questioning their plans. Your responses are really quite revealing.

If you can't even afford soap, obviously this poor litter is doomed from the start.

I've read your replies to the venting thread, and it sounds like you're one foot out the door towards being homeless. Obviously you're "not made of money" so health testing isn't important to you (yet you're selling the puppies for $2000 a piece? What?!), but food IS a necessity for both your pregnant bitch and litter.

If you can't even afford basic personal hygiene items, I'd re-evaluate getting into dog breeding. What if your bitch needs a c-section? What if she has complications?

I'm not even touching on how unethical your breeding plans are.

feel so... defeated. im going to be like $150-200 short on rent, come the 1st, because my hours at work have sucked ass. tried to go donate plasma today as that would have got me at least $30 closer and maybe i could have done it a few times between now and then. was told they cant use me. some crap about my veins are too small/too weak and some crap about how their machines work and i kind of just tuned it all out because in my head i was just crying and screaming. im so sick of being so poor that just keeping a roof over my head consumes more than 100% of my resources. theres so many stupid things i need to buy and i cant. shoes that dont have 3" holes all over. deoderant. food. i dont even use soap anymore because ic ant afford it. im so tired of struggling to keep my head above water day in day out for years and years. im just so... done.

Out of curiosity, did Linds and SaraB start those threads? Just cause I'm gonna go looking for it.

Frost no one is putting words in your mouth. We are simply going by what YOU wrote on YOUR website.

You say you health tested. Ok. Where is it listed?

This is chazhound. If you post anything about a breeding be prepared to back it up.

I think people are saying that you're intending on breeding a young, unproven dog prior to any health testing for inheritable disease and the like, and you're planning on charging puppy buyers $2000 for the pleasure (less the puppies which you will be donating, of course).

if thats the way you want to go about it, lumping everyone under the same blanket statements, putting words in my mouth, then **** off. pretty sure that giving 3 puppies away for free, spaying after 1 breeding, and doing health testing already shows im not in it for "TEH MONIEZZ" like you think. just stop
What health testing are you planning on doing, specifically? What has been done, specifically?

There are plenty of bad breeders out there who breed for reasons other than money. Like, for instance, ego or ignorance.

i love my dogs, i love these breed, im not going to destroy something i care about even if you assholes think its not worth caring about. so **** off.
I also can't imagine taking a functional dog like an APBT and turning into a lumbering brute which is handicapped by its own anatomy is breeding for the love of the dogs. But that's just me.
