Sup guys! So I don't have a dog yet but I do plan to get one next year or so. Specifically an Ibizan hound, but I have no idea where to look for breeders that are willing to ship the dog to me which I understand is expensive but I have no car haha. So if anyone knows where to look for one... Let me know haha (I live in Montana)

Also a friend of mine is looking for a welsh corgi puppy. It hAS to be a welsh corgi. And a puppy. She's very particular and asked me to ask here for her. So if anyone knows a breeder for WELSH corgis haha let me know.

Welcome to the site!

Typically, a lot of breeders are willing to ship puppies. However, you'll still have to be able to pick the puppy up at the airport. But, I have to question if you can't get a ride to the airport...how are you going to get a ride to take the dog to a vet for general appointments, worse yet, an emergency?

All corgis are welsh corgis.

As far as Ibizan Hounds... most breeders are going to want their puppy owners to have reliable methods of transportation. Also, I'd assume most Ibizan breeders would want to meet someone prior to selling them a puppy, so transportation would be required anyway.

There is a vet clinic just a short walk away from my place. As far as the airport, I have the public buses. And I also have a friend with a car who had no problem driving me somewhere in case of emergencies or the "no other option" situations. And she's really reliable, known her since high school.

Welcome!

I can't imagine not having a car and having a dog. Put aside the veterinary emergencies....

Dog food is heavy. I remember before I had a car and had to carry my groceries and supplies for my rabbits... or carry my rabbits in their carriers to school (for their vet appointments). The litter I bought for their litterboxes was heavy! Do-able... but it sucked.

I take my dogs all over the place with me and not having a car would be a serious issue. I drive them to conservations for hikes. I drive them to parks that are too far to walk to. I drive them to the pet store with me. Dog park. Indoor horse arena for training. Obedience/agility classes. Trials. Friends' houses for play dates.

I would seriously be at a loss without a car. It's not that you absolutely need a car to have a dog... but I definitely need a car to ENJOY my dogs. In fact, I bought a larger vehicle in part so that I could get my second dog!
