So sorry for your loss.

After I lost all 3 of my childhood dogs. it was like a era was gone.

childhood pets are the best and the ones you will have the best memories off.

Im sure Sally has left you with tons of great, funny, sad and angry memories. cherish those

I am so so sorry. :(

Childhood dogs are so hard to loose, as they hold such a special spot in our hearts.

Thanks so, so much everyone. I have read every single post and they all mean so much to me. Just, thanks. I'm having such a hard time dealing with this .. it's been really, really rough. Not only is it the end of an era, but I genuinely feel as though I've lost my best friend. She's been by my side since I was eight years old, through thick and thin. She was the dog that made me love dogs. I miss her so much. :( I'm so broken up about it. I'm really, really struggling.

I'm so sorry--a dog who has been such a steady companion, has helped you grow--there is no easy way to let them go. Rest easy Sally.

I'm so sorry :( I know the feeling, and I'm still struggling with much of the same -- I got Rosey when I was 6 and lost her almost as quickly/unexpectantly.

If there's anything I can do, please feel free to PM me.

Thanks so much you guys. I feel a bit better today, I guess it's because I'm at school and keeping busy and trying to keep my mind off of it. :(

I got our collie Lassie when I was 4 (for my 4th bday) had her until I was 16. We too lost her as suddenyl and unexpected. it was so difficult. its been 12 years and yet, I still miss her and tear up thinking of her.

I had a dream the other night and sweetie my other child hood (from when I was 7 until I was 20) was in my dream.

See they still visit. I woke up, and was just at ease. its been 8 years since he past.

I can still hear Cj (poodle we got when i was 4 had her until I was 17) scattering around the floor running in to things. (she turned 100% blind at age 6)

They never leave us. even how much we miss them so.

Sally will always be with you.

Id lie if i said time heals. it does, but you never stop missing them. Im actually crying thinking about all them right now.

Dogs never ever live nearly as long as they should.

But if humans were as good as dogs. all we would need is 15 years of life to acomplish so much love and family that a dog does in 15 short years

They stay with us forever, and ever. And never fully leave
