The dog musing/vent thread

Friend got a lab mix puppy yesterday. So what do I do after getting off work completely exhausted? Went and played with puppy!

I had him walking on the leash and sitting before I left. He is so much smarter than any of mine have ever been at that age! I just want to skip work and go back and play with the puppy. He was so snuggly.

So much puppy want.

FINALLY. Got everything submitted and done for next weekend. Penny& I are off to do a field trial event where she'll have 4 chances to try hunting. Should be interesting!

So, yesterday I was convinced that Buzz was on his death bed. We decided to try adjusting two of his meds. I gave him half his thyroid med and doubled his dose of one of his pain meds at night. I came home from work yesterday to a whole new dog. Seriously, he carried his bully stick around and insisted I hold it for him yesterday. He hadn't wanted to even chew on a bully stick in days. Everytime I think he's on his way out, he's all like "AHAHA, FOOLED YOU FOOD LADY MOM PERSON!"

Good lord I've had enough heart attacks about him lately. I guess he is going to spend the weekend at an awesome boarding kennel in the country with Frodo while I go camping.

Keep on keeping on Buzz. I could do with fewer scares though, really.

And now that I've said that, a major expense just came up& I may not be able to swing it. Officially cranky.

Mia's trick class is so much fun. I'm really enjoying some stress-free playing with her. I showed off Mia opening her crate door on cue and got some positive feedback on that one.

My trainer asked us to come film some tricks for a local tv station this weekend. Knowing my two that should be.... interesting.

Andddd a quick bank account check tells me I'm good to go to the hunt trial next weekend I'm so relieved. For some reason, I thought I was going to be a lot poorer after all the spending I've done this last month. Pleasantly surprised aha

I know that feeling. SO much spending was done over here last month. Eek. I don't even want to know.

Sometimes I pretend if I don't look at my account balance, it won't actually go lower LOL!

Jason decided last week he wants us to have a joint account so he is having his paycheck deposited to my account. I know that we need that money also for bills, but all of a sudden I AM SO RICH hahahahaha

Went with Wesley this morning to let him out first thing. Has gross poop, gets stuck to his butt. So I decided to bathe him, because he needed a bath anyway. Oh my god, he is so wimpy. Then I shaved his butt area afterwards, just in case his stomach gets upset again, to avoid the trauma being repeated. 1 1/2 hours later... Remind me why I am getting another one in 3 1/2 weeks?!

This would singlehandedly be the greatest and worst thing to happen to me ever. Garret makes me give him my money to avoid this exact situation LOL!!

Somehow this trick dog demo has changed to dress up for Halloween and do a freestyle routine on tv... I am not sure about this lol. Oh well I already said I would. Maybe I can make my trainer do the dancing part and I just supply the dogs. I got chosen because they need small trick dogs.

Covering the couch and dog beds with extra blankets has become a cue for my dogs that they are about to get RMBs.

Rarely has the sight of a bunch of ratty old blankets made anyone so happy.

Haha, Jubel is associating ziplock bags with him getting a raw something. The sight of a ziplock bag gets him all excited.

My foster dog is a real dog now. She spins in excited circles on her way to her crate at meal times, and when I grab her car harness... It makes me so happy.

Happy is sick AGAIN. I don't know why. But I wouldn't put it past her to eat all sorts of yucky things when she's outside. It just takes such a toll on her.

Need advice to stop Percy barking in his crate!!!! GAH!!! Any advice is appreciated, though I'm highly opposed to a bark collar.

Got to meet a Swedish Vallhund puppy today.

The people that bought her purchased her from the breeder I was actually speaking with when I was trying to learn more about the breed (and before I decided, "What the hell, I can have a 90 pound active dog in a one bedroom apartment...WHO CARES?!?!"). I told them they had to keep bringing her into our clinic because I wanted to see how she matured! LOL

Abrams lost a tooth while we were playing tug and I was able to grab it before he ate it. Which means I have one of his baby teeth. ^_^ I don't know what I'm going to do with it (probably throw it away when I'm done being fascinated by it), but still! I have his baby tooth!

^ I have I believe 4 of Juno's baby teeth, just hanging out in a ziploc bag. I will never part with them lol.

Happy seems to be feeling better. She ate dinner, at least, and didn't throw up. I originally told my mom I'd bring home some drugs from work, but then I decided at this point maybe it's too early to pump her full of things and maybe we should just observe. My mother was not happy about that and was especially not happy that I work from 8-7 tomorrow and can't observe her myself.

But really, I'm not going to get my undies in a bunch over a dog that vomits twice but otherwise doesn't seem too down and out. =P
