My mother and I are locked in epic battle over my hair. Yes, my hair, the stuff on my head. She keeps insisting that it needs to be cut. I keep refusing because she keeps insisting. So, to make a long story short: my mother is a control freak and I'm having a tantrum. Ah, mother daughter love.

My parents & I have the same argument ... Only about my tattoos ... & the fact that I want more of them

I swear, going shopping with my mother is like taking a person with special needs shopping. It's EXHAUSTING. She has to be told everything what to do. Learned helplessness is a bitch.

Also, last night I dreamed my mom rehomed Gavroche. So I spent most of the night sobbing and screaming in my dreams and didn't get much real sleep. The best thing in the world was waking up with Gavroche laying right next to me as always <3

I have a bunch of sores on the top of my feet from an accident, and one of them in particular is really big and painful and won't. heal. It's been a week, and it stills hurts when I touch it, and my whole foot and leg hurts now, so I'm thinking it's infected.

This is bringing back horrifying memories of Microbiology class and doing a project on flesh-eating bacteria.

I felt pretty icky in the early morning hours yesterday, so I cleared my client schedule and took it easy. I felt ok but slept a lot, and by evening felt fine, except for a bit of a headache. This morning I felt aok, thought I could go back to my regular schedule, but when I was moving around more, felt lightheaded, so I cancelled my morning client.

My parents come in tonight for a visit and I have two afternoon/evening clients. It's going to be a bear to reschedule, but I'm leaning toward doing so, so that I don't push myself too far and wind up sick during my parents' visit. Hrm.

Went out with a friend of mine last night. Thought I made it super clear at the beginning by making sure it wasn't a date, letting him know I wasn't sleeping with him, and yep, still not a date. I realize it's not "cool" to be like, 'hey, tonight is a friend-thing'. . . but I want to make it clear.

I ended up pretty much hammered by midnight and decided I'd stay there on the couch instead of staying up for hours trying to get sober and drive home. I was then annoyed about coming to bed with him to the point where I was about to kill someone.

How clear do I have to make it that even when I am rip-roaring drunk, I am NOT interested in sleeping with you? There's no way I could have had more to drink and there was still zero desire or chemistry there. At that point, you have no hope. GIVE UP. If I'm mildly interested in you while drunk but not sober I could see having hope, but if I spend most of the evening checking out girls with you and at no point show any interest in you, take hint. Ugh.

Then I slept on the couch until 6:30AM and drove myself home. I feel like trash right now.

Why for the love of dog can people not communicate...

We have the ways...we have the technology! There are phones, cell phones, computers with email, and faxes!

If you want something from someone you have to communicated that to them!

This concludes my random work induced rant :D

Decided to try and cut out caffeine, mostly, since I was far too dependent upon it.

Left for work without my pants. Not even sure I'll be able to carry the litter I need to buy home. redo, please.

My dad never had a dishwasher and I always had to do his dishes lol. The years my mom didn't have one drove me nuts because she just throws all the dishes into a sink full of water whether they had food on them or not and let them sit and then washed them in luke warm chunky water. BARF

I vowed I would never be without a dishwasher again lol

speaking of communication ... why is it when you text someone (usually a guy ... sorry guys ... but to be fair some of my GF's do it too) they try & CALL you??? Look ... there is a reason I TEXTED in the first place, usually because I cant get enough signal out here lately (working on the towers I guess) to make or receive a call, or I CAN'T talk! or I am in a situation where taking a call isn't appropriate!

you think with all the evolution of technology people would be smarter about that.

Ben car pooled with one of his co-workers today. The guy lives just around the corner from us, but i HATE it when Ben car pools with this guy. I'm pretty sure this guy hates his family and is always dragging his feet getting out of the office. Before I left work today, Ben said, "We're going to try to be out by 4:30"...at 4:50 he sent me a text saying, "sigh..." It's now quarter till 6 and Ben still hasn't told me that they've left yet. He almost always sends me a text when he is packing up his stuff to head out for the day.

So vent 1 - If I had known he wasn't going to be home until after 6, I would have taken Hudson to one of the trails nearby and gone for a walk

Vent 2 - Ben is going to be mad about leaving so late. He knows it happens ever single time he car pools with this guy, but I'm going to be the one to hear about it

Vent 3 - Ben is annoyed with the shape that the main bathroom is in & primed the walls yesterday. Today he was going to paint, but at the rate he is going, he isn't going to be home until after 6:30.

I don't like complaining about work but seriously... First my file corrupts and I have to redo my work and then my final map printout catches on the drafting table and rips in two!

No workout for me. I get to work late to fix it all.

Are you kidding me? I finally got an obgyn appt for Monday and today Aunt Flo started. I seriously never have periods. Knowing my luck they won't be able to reschedule for a long time and I'm anxious to get on BC/hormones now.
