Just saw a trailer for the latest episode of Doomsday Preppers & they had a couple of what looked like Belgian Malinois & said they had titanium teeth put in their mouth. I am appalled. I didn't even know this was possible.:yikes:

Wow, I guess it is possible. I had never heard of it before but it sounds like there is a valid reason for it at least where the military is concerned.

The titanium teeth in war dogs are not put in place just for funsies. They're replacements after the real teeth are lost or damaged. We've had a few pet dogs come through the clinic who had the same thing done - instead of just pulling a broken tooth, they're replaced with a titanium tooth. Or a dead tooth has a root canal and then a titanium crown.

This. Most are not willing to end a dogs career, sport/pp/military, due to a broken tooth but its also not a preemptive thing.

It's not just for military dogs, regular old civilians do it too, and it's to replace lost or damaged teeth. They even do it for people :)
