Eloping is totally where it's at lol. We eloped and we haven't regretted it a single day in our lives LOL.

I love going to other peoples weddings, I had no desire to try to co ordinate my own. With all the long distance people (being that none of our family lives anywhere near us... Except for and aunt and uncle and anfew cousins on Brians side) and that some of my siblings don't get along, my sister hates my mom, etc etc etc and then all the money to put out. I always thought I wanted the wedding but push come to shove and I was like HECK NO and we eloped and told everyone later

It's funny because when I first met a friend of mine we were talkig about how we met our spouses and she said "did you have a wedding or dis you elope?" I had never been asked that... Usualy it's what was your wedding like or where was it. I told her we eloped and she said "I thought so. I don't know you very well yet but you just don't seem like the big wedding type". LOL
Honestly, it's probably going to be what happens.
We have talked about it, and while we LOVE the idea of weddings.. it all just seems to complicated. Plus he is all jaded from going to ALL OF THEM lol

The parts of weddings I love (a pretty dress, the family/friends, love, cupcakes) can all be accomplished in a much smaller low-key way like a party/get together after the elopement or something.

I don't really know what changed.. I found a boy and just didn't care anymore about the wedding.
I would like to be married but the huge expensive party..eh (and it would have to be huge, my family is HUGE and very tight knit. You are looking at 300 guests MINIMUM)
I would totally take a 2 month honeymoon instead! LOL

Mike and I will most likely be having a "civil" marriage at the end of the month - going down to the courthouse and signing papers so I can get benefits and when he gets his orders out of a-school he'll already be listed as married so we can get the housing we need. I am so, so tempted to just say "screw it!" and have a small, small, small ceremony with just me in my dress, my family, and his parents. Reception can be dinner afterwards.

I actually pitched that idea to him in a letter, but we'll see. Lol

If we dont, the ceremony will be after a-school, and I'm torn between wanting to plan it and going all bride-zilla, or saying, "THiS IS TOO COMPLICATED!"

I'm actually giving everyone a lot of leeway in what they want to do, because I just don't care. But I asked Mike what his opinions were, and he said, "I want my dad's Charger as the get away care and I like purple. Other than that, go with it!" He will regret those words. Hahaha.

I totally wouldn't mind a "traditional" wedding, but it is made even more complicated when we won't know a date until, like, super close to the date. Eloping when we get the chance sounds so much more simple.

It's almost 10 and it hasn't cooled down at all yet upstairs. And of course the AC would go out on a holiday weekend. So it can't get fixed until Tuesday.

I want fun themed, he wants classic.
You do realize the BBC is paying for 50 couples to get married in the UK on the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who if they have a Doctor Who wedding, right? ;) Fun, and classic. Because Doctor Who is old so it must be classic :p

I'm in a roommate situation, BF and I live upstairs in the "attic" (that's been furnished for an office or extra bedroom space) and the others live downstairs on opposite ends of the house. Like most larger houses in this area, there's two AC units to cool the house. One is for our upstairs room alone.

And it isn't working.

It's not like, oh, it gets a little hot but it's okay. No. It's an ATTIC. IT IS FRIGGIN HOT PEOPLE. It's been 30 minutes and already at 90. PLUS HUMIDITY. AND ALL THE ELECTRONICS IN THIS ROOM.

It went from cold to super hot so quick there is CONDENSATION ON THE MIRROR. AND MY CAMERA.

MY CAMERA.
I so feel for you :( I also live in the attic, and it's hot enough when the AC IS working - I have to have a fan going n front of the vent 24/7 to keep it below 80. I only have one of two rooms cooled, so I know how bad it would be without AC by walking into the other room. UGH AWFUL HOT GROSS. I need to clean that room but I simply CAN'T until it cools off eventually. Our AC was not working ONE day and it wasn't even a really hot day (high 80s) and I had to run home and get my gecko and board him because it was getting too hot.

Is there anywhere downstairs you can stay until you can get it fixed? Camp out on the couch or living room floor? Before we had central AC, when I was a kid, we used to camp on the living room floor all summer lol :p

Unfortunately not. Hoping BF stops and gets a fan or two. I can't really leave here until someone else gets here because I can't leave Zane upstairs and the boys can't be alone together. It's all sad face.

I was sorta standing it for a while occupying myself on the computer. But then my computer was overheating.

When you buy something used online and have it sent to you, realize that it has actually been used. Maybe only once, but still used. You can't complain that it's dirty. Stained maybe (it's dog gear), but not dirty I washed them.
I get the impression this person just wants their money back and is implying it rather than just coming out and saying it, maybe hoping that I'll be the one to offer it. Therefore, leaving me without the items and money.

That's just awful :( Borrow a tent and sleep outside? Heck, I think I'd rather sleep outside tentless than in an uncooled attic. You must be absolutely miserable :(

REDHOTNESS. Cheer me up. See below.

Never mind that the conundrum I posted about had NOTHING to do with what I'm looking for in my dating life, and was simply that to reply to a guy ON A DATING SITE might be leading him on, a problem I have talked to my co-worker who met his fiancee online about in the past - it's disheartening for a guy to put the time into drafting up an e-mail to a girl and to just simply hear nothing back which is what happens 99% of the time. But is it fair to respond back when he's going to take that as a signal that now there's a possibility I'm interested when I'm not?
Personally, I think it's respectful and polite to answer the email - you're extending the same respect to him that he's given to you. So there's my non-dating advice. :) Cute Customer that I asked out cancelled on me tonight, so I am obviously not qualified in any stretch of the word to give dating advice.

I wish I could just find a friggin date. I haven't had a date in years. :( Dunno what is wrong with me.

Also, it's HOT outside. I hate it.
Nothing. Nothing at all. That's just the way it pans out.

My vent:

Step 1: Ask customer out on date.

Step 2: Customer says yes.

Step 3: Saurus does excited dance.

Step 4: Customer cancels an hour before said date, further confirming that I suck and no one wants anything to do with me.

I just give up. **** it all.

I'm ready to leave for vacation, like, now. I've worked seven days in a row now, twelve hour days, with at least six dogs per day, plus my student, plus cleaning, packing and dealing with out of control coworker, and staff meeting on Tuesday, I need it to be Wednesday so I can load up and GO.
Also. WHY IS THE CHOCOLATE ALWAYS GONE??? :'(

See, I never was one of those girls that had their wedding all planned out or anything. I did decide that I wanted (DH didn't really care) a church wedding with the reception, dress, etc. I don't regret it for a second--I have awesome memories, and it went very well-it's been 10 years and we still have random friends or family members that talk about how much fun they had. Those are memories that we just would not have had if we had eloped.

The most valuable lesson I learned from wedding planning (that can be applied to any event planning I think) is that it's as simple or complicated as you make it. If a certain aspect is very important to you (like the cake for example), then by all means get exactly what you want. However, if things like center pieces, invitation style, etc, are not a big priority-don't sweat it!

Give me this guy's name and address and I will kill him.

Did he give a reason? Did he ask to reschedule? I'd be pissed and never talk to the guy again. That's pretty douchey. I'm sorry. :(

Since I have been back, I have been running with Buddy (twice) unfortunately, its been so long that his pads weren't used to the rocks anymore so now his pads are sore :( :(, also I went in my new pair or hiking sandals, sans socks & now I have two pretty good blisters on the insides of each of my feet >_<

so we are both out of commission running wise for at least a few days ... maybe more for Buddy, boo ... its going to break his heart when I go without him :( :(

So hot in the room today that the thermostat stopped working. It is actually cooler outside, so I opened the window.

Got a small nap in today on the couch downstairs, but man this is miserable.

I'm not making enough money at my new job. I mean not making enough to even get by paycheck to paycheck. :( I only took a $1.50/hr paycut from my last job, but I drive so much for this new one that after paying my bills literally the rest of my check goes to gas. Nothing left for food, anything for the boys, nada.

I don't want to leave because I like this job and I really like my boss, but I don't think I can do it. And that terrifies me because I have no idea what I'll do instead. I'm coming to realize that the dog related jobs just don't pay enough, but I have... basically no skills elsewhere. So where do I go from here? Ugh. Super stressed.

My friend's dog was attacked by a pit bull while she was at her hotel for regionals. She wasn't even out her room door when the dog charged in and dragged her dog out into the hallway. Yep.... off leash pit bull in a hotel. Apparently my trainer's dog bit the pit bull owner when he went to try to kick the dogs apart so her dog was quarantined 10 days in another state. She missed getting to run at regionals. She was beaten up and bruised and bit on the hand by the pit. Pit was quarantined but the owners never picked up their dog and so it was probably put to sleep. I feel really bad for her and her dog. It is lucky he is so hairy because it seems like the pit mostly ripped out his hair and gave him a long scrape down his back and ripped his ear.

Seriously though.... I want to smack that owner. Why would you let your dog loose in a hotel hallway?
