About half of our club traveled to Myrtle Beach a couple of weekends ago to trial. Two of us earned our BH (Kastle included!), and Jason and Pan got their IPO I. It was hot and rainy during most of the trial.

We've got some things to work on - mostly focus in the heeling (when I'm nervous), and his motions. I was ecstatic with how well he did in the long down considering that at one point after the first dog ran off field, the guy got down on the ground and patted the ground and clapped for his dog...I thought for sure Kastle would break...and I was scared to look over my shoulder in case he thought I *was* looking for him! It was supposed to be a round robin, so I was supposed to have a little more time to loosen both of us up before we went, and then we were supposed to do obedience first, and THEN long down. But, the judge knows me and likes to test my limits so off to long down first we went! Overall, I am very pleased with my fluffy pup.

Even though BH is pass/fail, we had a little internal club competition for "high BH" so we asked the scores. Kastle and the other dog tied! Pretty awesome day for our club, we got 58/60 points.

Pleased as ever with the posing...I suck at not pointing my camera remote at the camera...*sigh* lol

We stayed right across the street from the beach, so Kastle and Limit got to go in the ocean for the first time. It's also the first time I've been in the ocean in 10 years. I had more fun playing in the waves with my dogs than I can remember having in quite awhile...it was utterly relaxing and just a total blast.

Limit wasn't so sure about this whole wide-open space thing, and the other people and dogs, and the waves - but he chased me around for awhile and got good and wet and then just sort of took it all in. I think he had a lot of fun.

He's also turned into quite the frisbee dog...which led to the discovery that he has Border Collie Collapse syndrome. We've had a couple of low level incidents in the past that concerned me, but I wrote off as young puppy issues. I had never heard of such a thing but after talking to several people/watching videos, a lot of things make sense. I just need to be very careful on how much/how intense his exercise is when we play. It seems to be a mild case based on the videos I've seen. The recovery is very rapid, but it's very scary to watch as it presents a lot like heat stroke at first.

Vex was adopted and it seems to be the PERFECT fit. She's beyond excited and in love with him already. Lots of funny stories already happening. I'm so incredibly happy for him.

My favorite Malinios in all the world, old man Steele, looking powerful and svelte at the ripe old age of 13. My parents came to visit (for the first time - yay!) and we brought them and Steele for a tour at work. Steele showed my dad how a real bomb dog detects explosives, it was awesome. I never expected to love this dog so dang much.

Thanks everyone!!! We've jumped more seriously into the retrieve and tracking to prep for our IPO I :)

Is Steele Jason's dog?
Yes he is. He was Jason's bomber at work and when he retired no one else wanted to take him home, so we did.

The first photo needs a hilarious caption and for the life of me I can't think of what it is

And that second photo is just completely gorgeous. Truly.
I am just horrible with captions. Just horrible. I am not witty at all. Which makes me sad LOL

Thank you! I definitely want to go back and play around some more. I took more fun photos of other people's dogs there but by the time I made time for my dogs, the lighting wasn't as neat. This is one of my faves:

The few of Pan I really liked too (he had to come way early because he's so dog aggressive).
