Anyone have a ComfortFlex harness? Or other suggestion

Nola's 3rd birthday is coming up, and I'd like to get her a new harness. I've heard awesome things about the ComfortFlex Sport harness, and was wondering if any of you guys have one? What do you like about it? How comfortable is it for your dog? Does the chest/girth strap and buckle rub? How secure is it?

I'm a little leery of trying it, because while Nola does have a similar style harness here:

That fits well and doesn't rub, it does slip around her shoulders a bit and I don't think it's the most secure thing. I double leash her when she wears it with a martingale so she can't slip.

I also tried the EzyDog QuickFit on her and we both HATED it. It rubbed her so much and messed witht the way she walked, and it was just crappily made IMO.

Dance and Journey have ComfortFlex harnesses. I don't use them for anything other than Flyball, though. And since Journey can't do the part of Flyball yet that I got her harness for, she hasn't even worn it but to try it on haha. But Dance has worn her harness a lot now. The only thing I don't like about it is that the chest strap isn't adjustable, and Dance is a rather narrow dog, so it fits a bit looser than I'd prefer. Otherwise, it fits really well and I like it a lot. It doesn't affect her movement at all and doesn't rub or anything.

I would suggest trying one on first, though. Somebody I know with a Dachshund tried one on her dog and it didn't fit quite right. The chest strap came up too high on her dog's neck and it just looked uncomfortable, but that dog is shaped differently than Nola.

I looooove love love my ComfortFlexes, I think everyone needs one.

Not sure how it would work on a dog of her shape, but I know a lot of corgis who use them?

If it helps, she has a fairly deep chest (16"), but not nearly as deep as most Dachshunds. She's pretty narrow, too. She has a skinny neck (11") and is 11lbs.

I love mine for all three of my dogs. I have never had any of them back out of ours, and Bristol is always behind us when we walk. None of it rubs, and there is padding under the buckle part as well.

The shape of a comfortflex-style harness works great on weird shaped dogs because it's basically just two straps. No worrying about shoulders, chest shape, etc.

I've never had an actual Comfrotflex, but I did have an Ezydog that was the same type and it SUCKED. The sizing was way off and it was just not comfortable for Logan. It fit Gavroche okay but was still a pain to use.

Logan's working harness is the same basic design, but made to fit HIM. I made it myself, and I'm sort of in love with it. I'm planning on making him another one with fleece lining for winter (I want to keep this one unlined because usually our summers are HOT). I still need to make one for Gavroche, too, though I do love the way his EasyRider fits. I just want to make him one anyway, probably in a super bright color since he's white Gavroche's will probably fully fleece lined, possibly with a double layer of fleece, since he's pretty naked.

In theory, it is possible to back out of them. I don't have that problem because the whole point of Logan being in harness is that he pulls (guide work, counterbalance). If the girth is tight enough, though, the risk should be minimal.

I know lot of people that have the Comfortflex and I don't like the way they fit.

It's not that I don't like it... I think the quality is good, etc, I just don't particularly like it for small dogs. The width is big and the d-ring on the back is pretty huge, so it kind of flops around when he runs. And it sits too high up on the chest for my liking. He has only worn it a few times. But when he pulls even slightly he kind of gags. He does the same with our Ezydog harness. I actually prefer the ezydog though, fit wise and look wise, it's just that it sits too high up on his chest.

Our go-to is by far Puppia, but I keep searching for that "perfect" harness. Puppia has it's faults, but it's really only because sometimes it's too much in the summer IMO (even though it's lightweight) and sometimes it just is too much in general if I want something a bit more plain, and not the vest-style. Otherwise I always end up using them though in the end. They're just easiest to fit him, easiest to put on, easy to clean, and cute, etc.

I don't like step ins either, but I did like the Buddy Belt. I plan on getting another one in another color (I sold my other one, because I just wasn't using it enough, but of course now I miss it)... they seem to fit Dachshunds very well.

I have one for both art and talon and like them. We use them as their everyday collars baSically. We have been running, walking, General free play, and swiMming In them. I have some pros and cons for them. Oh and I'm on my phone so I'm sorry if there are a lot of mistakes in this lol

Art has a narrow chest so the front doesn't fit as snug as I'd like it to. The xs or xxs ones (art has xs Talon wears a small) front strap is slightly adjustable. Personally I hate that extra Velcro party. It just seems to get a bit loose at times.

The ring is floating in the handle which I don't mind but some people do. Also Talon can back out of his if he tries but he's a bit funny shape.

Overall I feel they are really comfortable for the dogs. They don't run. They are padded. They don't restrict movement at all. And they are super easy to get on and off. That's my favorite part I think lol

The ease of getting them off and on is also part of my favorite as well lol.

I have buddy belts, both the little dogs HATE them, and they seem really uncomfortable.

We have one eazy dog and Diesel got out of that.

Puppia was ok, but it matted Bristol horribly.

We also have a kangaroo braided harness as well for Bristol, that I love, but it also mats her fur as well.

I have also been on the search for the perfect harness lol. We have other typical step in ones, rc pets I think, and a couple no pull ones as well.

This. My girls do have ComfortFlexes but Baxter wears a Walkeez. The CF fit him very weirdly and he had to be constantly adjusted (by my chiro) around his shoulders. It fit really tightly around his shoulders, but loose around his chest. The CFs fit the girls better but they very rarely wear their harnesses, just usually for tracking. I love the Walkeez though and so does Baxter.

I like the look of the Walkeez, but I worry the fleece would be way took hot for FL.

I know lots of FL people who use Walkeez. All good, as far as I know.

I have been debating the ComfortFlex lately as well.. if you get one, definitely update this thread on how you like it!

I don't want to put fleece on her in 103 degree summers with 90% humidity.
