I'm not sure, probably a good amount. Sawyer's Sheriff collar that Hillside gave us probably cost a decent amount and it's still looking great through some years and stints on both Virgo and Sawyer. I want to get Marley a good collar but don't know what I want it to look like. I'd like to get Sawyer his own leather collar because even though he's worn this one for a while, I still think of it as Virgo's.

Oh, you guys are evil! :D

I am now coveting a Stargazer for Maya...I have been looking for a new collar for her for a while now, and couldn't find exactly what I wanted....until now.

I paid $70 for this collar in lavender about a year ago:

I had it favorited for close to a year, buying cheaper alternatives to try to get the same look, but none were right. I finally gave in, and I LOVE it. The bow shows through Lucy's fluffy neck fur, and it's cute and feminine and soft and perfect.

I can't see ever spending that much again, but I'm glad I did on this one occasion. She only ever wears one collar, so if I get 8 years out of it (please please please live that long) it's worth it to me.

I love Paco collars and every now and then I'm tempted to buy one for Pig, but then I come to my senses and acknowledge the fact that it would sit in a drawer. She already has the perfect collar, so it would be silly to buy more.

I mean really, it's perfect for her:

If we're going to the beach she wears the gundogsupply collar, if we're going anywhere else she wears her flying pig collar and she goes naked all other times.

Bear has a Paco that he almost never wears. I love the collar, but I hate it on him. Well no, I don't even hate it on him, I hate putting any collar on him. His coat is super fragile, so he doesn't wear anything if I can help it.

Badger is on his third tuflex now. The one he's wearing now goes up to 22". Once he outgrows that, the biggest collar gds seems to offer goes up to 27". After that, I'll have to search around. The collars I've found so far in the 30"+ range are either super duper expensive or not all that good looking. I won't get him his Paco/other nice leather collar until he's at least 3+ so I can reasonably say it will fit him for life.

Price wise, the most I've spent on a single collar was $150. I will probably go up to $200-275 for one really nice collar for Badger, but that's mainly because of how big it would have to be.

ChelseaShea on here makes custom biothane collars. I've always found her prices quite reasonable! Aeri has a wine biothane center ring collar and she even put the GDS plate that I ordered on it for me. :)

Merlin has ruined collar shopping for me.
Maybe I should shave him.. :rofl1: I still buy a lot of bow ties though!

As for collars he has one gundogsupply tufflex he wears everyday. Simple. Cheap. Sturdy. Never stinks or gets dirty. Has a name plate.. couldn't be happier.

We got those for Elsie and Zobby, and they're awesome! I'm so pleased with them.

They smelled a little bad at first, but I washed them with dish soap and then they were fine. Kind of a plastic-y smell?
