Thanks to the work of meepitsmeagan, SevenSins, ZillyAPBTs, and I (and numerous non-chazzers), this little girl has been sprung from a local shelter.

Tentative name is "Seal" right now. She's an ACD mix, 6 months old, came in as a stray, euth date was today. She was just picked up after her spay by Zilly and she's apparently pretty skinny, full of fleas/worms, but heartworm negative.

Zilly is holding her for a few days to give her a chance to start healing from the spay, then I'll temp foster for about 2 weeks, when she'll likely make the trip up to the IL Chazzer meetup where she will rendezvous with k9 for transport, and possibly go to foster with meepits if k9 doesn't decide to keep her. ;)

I saw Meagan post about her on Facebook last night and made the "mistake" (not so much) of opening the picture full-sized and seeing these. These... I'm officially handing in my man card now. Because I squeed. Yeh, out loud even.

Saw she was like a half hour or 45 minutes from my kennel partner Zilly and I made her promise to go get her. Because baby seal eyes.

The rest of you people better decide who's keeping her, fast. ;)

Hehe we know you're a big softy Seven - and Seal is very thankful today (though possibly slightly drunk still). I'm sooooo glad Zilly was able to help us out!

Zilly just updated - she sounds like a doll already!

"Pup has an amazingly sweet temperament, full of kisses. She's submissive but not excessively so, she's very inquisitive and hasn't shown any fear checking out the new place. She rode wonderfully in the car. She's eaten a small meal and is resting comfortably and quietly in her crate no fuss. She has pottied every time I've taken her outside and so far has had no accidents in the house. She met my son and she layed down at his feet for pets and gave him kisses. What a wonderful little pup!"

And all this after being in a shelter for 5 days (after being stray for who knows how long), being spayed, picked up by a stranger, driven in a strange car, and arriving at a new place! Rock Star!

New pic! :p She's pretty small (other than being underweight) and since brindle isn't an ACD color and she has a natural bob tail, I'm pretty confident calling her an ACD/Feist mix. Still in love with her eyes.

That's what I call Snipe! It's a great mix!

(tho the bob tail may not be natural, folks in the south still tend to dock ACDs)

She is one cute little bitty thing...and lucky too. Good luck fighting over who gets to keep her :)

She is definately a natural bob tail lol

Absolutely sweet as pie, and apparently totally crate trained. Walks in lays down, no fuss no muss, not a peep while shes in there. :hail:

Just a couple quick videos of her checking out the play yard, she was still a lil woozy.

I am SOOOOO excited to meet her!!

Thanks again for pulling her from the shelter. It's amazing what can happen with people coming together from multiple states. So, so cool.

Because baby seal eyes.
Please name her Miss Seal Pirate. Please please please, Ashley and Ken. ;)

I'm so glad we were able to pull this together! Erin and I were up until the wee hours of the night figuring this out! I'm so glad it worked out. Seven Sins and Zilly were ungodly helpful. Couldn't have done it without them, honestly.

I hope I at least get to see this dog in person one time. :D
