My boss was soo grossed out one day when another girl that worked there and I were talking about our love of Puppy Chow.

He's a sheltered sad man.

...what is it?
doesnt look like dog food..
Puppy Chow is the most delicious thing ever. It is Chex cereal coated with melted chocolate (and peanut butter), then powdered sugar is poured over it as the top coat.

So good.

The best part? IT COMES IN AN ALREADY MADE VERSION IN A BAG NOW! It's not quite as good as home-made, but definitely a good second.

Exactly - you melt chocolate, peanut butter, and butter together in a huge pot. Then you add the Chex. Then you stir carefully. Then you dump the mixture into a bag, with a butt-ton of powdered sugar. Then you vigorously tousle the bag until the powdered sugar evenly covers the cereal bits. Then you eat like... four pounds of it with a glass of ice cold milk and go into a diabetic coma.

I've never even heard of it being homemade..but Chex makes "Muddy Buddies" and Bugles make some sort of version of it too. Interesting.

I'm trial chair for our club's obedience trial this weekend, and it's customary for the trial chair to bring baked goods and/or snacks in for everyone who helps out at the trial.

My puppy chow was requested, so that's what I'm bringing. :)

Can you make it with something other than peanut butter?
I bet you could use some other kind of nut butter, or maybe sunflower butter if there's a nut allergy involved!

Deliciousness that I can no longer have.
oh powdered sugar.
you and I.

So, I have an extension on Chrome that gives me a reference point for numbers. It decided this was an appropriate reeference point:

Then you eat like... four pounds [= Smallest breed of dog, Chihuahua]

Mmmmmm puppy chow. That's a snack I can totally gorge on.

For what it's worth I don't really like the pre-packaged "Muddy Buddies." Homemade is waaaaayyy better!

Bolded part is so true. SO TRUE. I love it when Ben makes it for his co-workers because they don't eat it and then he brings it home. Sometimes I put it in a bowl with milk and call it breakfast.

I have never had puppy chow. Send me some?

You two, come visit and we'll make it and it will be glorious.
