I splurge on my kids and to a lesser extent the animals.

Probably the most extravagant for the kids on a regular basis is food. They get mostly organic food, to avoid giving them GMOs and pesticides and stuff. The store recently started carrying 100% grass fed, non homogenized whole milk. My son drinks so much milk though, and some days rejects most solids so it's really important to me that they get wholesome stuff.

For myself, books. I've got several series I'm gradually putting together in a collection of 1st edition 1st print run, autographed if possible. I enjoy searching through used book stores for the missing volumes.

Stuff for the dogs... Family is constantly asking, 'Don't they have enough stuff?' Uh... no... obviously not...

Myself? Books, Hubleys (cast iron doorstops, mostly dogs, but I have a couple of horses, too, and one cat), and dog figurines.

I like novels but a lot of my books are reference - wanna know what kind of dragonfly is perched on your car antenna? Got some books for that. Wanna know how to make a heated bed out in the woods in the dead of winter? Got a book for that, too. Also like history and autobiographies.

Books. Definitely books. I spend money to buy books when I probably shouldn't be spending that much money. But once I start a series, I have to buy EVERY book in the series. And once I buy I hardback in that series, every book thereafter has to be hardback.

Food. I don't cook and neither does my roommate, so we get crap food and/or fast food a lot. I think the most we've cooked here is like...an egg or pasta. :lol-sign:

Also spend a lot on Gwen, but I've curbed a lot of my spending on her. Mainly because she doesn't really care. I currently spend a butt load of money on the ferrets, though. They're new and every paycheck I'm like "OMG THIS IS WHAT THEY NEED. LOOK AT IT. IT'S A PINK ELEPHANT." When, in reality, they will love the paper bag more and also not defecate on/in it.

And I'm about to spend money on a surprise trip. But that's not my fault.

Food, beer & dog.

Like Arin, Ken and I rarely cook and we eat out most nice days. We love taking the dog to the many outdoor seating restaurants. We are trying to be a little more conscientious of what we eat and what we spend so we are grilling more but we just love the ritual of it.

Also, I can't resist not splurging on dog stuff.

Food nor so much here ... On the track we can't really cook anything cuz we can't have a stove or oven, but when I am at the ranch, I cook a lot with my mom ... Or more accurately ... I try xD.

I'm sure I eat a lot of stuff with GMO in it but ... Meh ... I've survived this long, I see no big deal with it, I probably have like the worst eating habits ever but you wouldn't know it by looking at me. My job is very physical & it's like working out 6 days a week riding & cleaning stalls.

I eat cheap so the dogs can eat good ;)
