I'm looking for a thin collar (doesn't have to specifically be a tag collar, but would only be used as one) for Nola for either staying home or using it with her bulkier harnesses. I'd like it to be leather ideally, thin (around 1/2" or less), and good quality. Also don't want something that hangs down super far and will trip her!

TIA!

I make paracord slips as tag collars that I really like the looks of... Here is Meagan's Harlow modeling one for me. XD

And I know that GatorDog with Carma and Aiden uses leather strips with the same braid to make training tabs- she may be able to make a collar similar for you out of leather? I think that would look really sharp!

I like Paco Collars for that purpose... their cat collars can be made like "regular" collars (without the elastic) and they're very lightweight.

Otherwise, there are braided kangaroo leather tag collars but the one person I know who does a really good job on those isn't doing leatherwork right now.

I have one of her paracord collars that I use as a tag collar for Simi. It's a martingale, which I chose, so it does hang a little, but I like it that way, because it makes it so people can see she DOES have tags without getting too close to her.

I got Quinn a tag collar from Braid-A-Roo about a year and a half ago that I really like! However, I understand she's not making them custom any longer.

I have been on the lookout for a similar product as Quinn's has darkened up like crazy, plus it's stretched (and I got it too big to begin with). However, the shipping quotes I've looked into are all around the $15 range - almost as much as the collar itself. My Braid-A-Roo shipped for $3.

I looked into buying some leather tonight and ordered some cheap colored leather strands to try the same braid out with if you might want a cheap trial tag collar? haha. It's a shame that braid-a-roo doesn't custom anymore... They look like AWESOME collars and I know I can't do anything that nice. haha.

I was going to suggest a thin rolled leather collar but I like the idea of the paracord collar better!

I love, love, love my paracord collars. I have one for both Rider and Harlow. For everyday collars, they work fantastic and don't break hair on the double coated dog (which I'm anal about). I dabble in leather work, and have thought about trying to make a round braid slip lead out of thin leather strands, but it wouldn't hold up with my guys as I let them out on the long line with their tag collars on.

I've thought about tweaking them a little bit to have two o-rings and a cat collar quick release buckle in the middle so that if they were to get caught playing or anything that they would come off... however, I love the slip so much that I haven't committed.

Karma Collars also makes thin leather tag collars as well. Their prices seem pretty reasonable as well. :)
