Visit Falon in TN, acquire pictures, acquire Vex, acquire more pictures, return home.

It's simple, c'mon. GET THE DOG.

Trent and I would melt in Tennessee but oh my god I would do it to see this dog. Oh, and to see Falon too, of course :p Trent can dance around flirting with the Corgi girls and I'll scoop up Kastle, Aikon, and Robin along with Vex and run away with them all :D

Is the rescue just Maggie? I've seen her tagged in your FB posts and I know you picked up Vex from her originally.

Haha, good luck - I want to see you pick up two GSDs and a BC :) Eden is a terrible flirt though!

It is :) If you want her email, I can give it to you, or you can FB message her. She's doing all of the screening. I'm just the foster home.

Bringing the dog to meet Vex isn't a requirement, but being there to meet him in person is :( I spoke to Maggie and she was incredibly helpful, but with plane tickets being $700 - $900 for a round trip, it probably won't happen.

I really, really was going to go for it. Oh well, clearly now the only solution is for another Chazzer to take him, or for Falon to keep him herself :p

We'll be there. We can meet up, you can meet Ayla, Backups mommy. :) She gives great hugs, ask Corrie.
Ayla DOES give awesome hugs. I tried to take a picture of her hugging me, but she was just hugging me too much. :rofl1:

Now, I'm running away from this thread before I start thinking I need Nico's clone.

I'm Maggie, the one who pulled Vex from the shelter and had him a couple weeks. A great boy. For those that aren't friends with Falon on FB, here are some more pictures...

Ok, other than the fact that he is darker than Dorkboy, I think the only other real difference between the two is Vex can actually catch a frisbee, WELL. Nico catches it...but not as well. He's kind of a disc trainwreck actually.

I am in love with this boy. For serious. I need more pictures.

And I wish this was 7 to 8 years down the road. I'd take him as a SD candidate. :p

If he was available about two years from now, that was my though, too, :p

Maggie, I hope you become active! I'm sure people here would eat your dogs right up, especially the Dutchie.

Do any Chazzers have some frequent flyer points or something that could knock some of the cost off of a plane ticket?

Guilty :p

Unfortunately, between recent vet bills and tuition, a plane ticket isn't feasible if I also plan to have money available for dog food, vet appointments, and general care :( Also, Orijen needs to stop costing $70+ a bag.

Is there anyway the meeting in person could be waved if you did a phone interview or a skype meeting or something? A questionnaire, SOMETHING?!

I don't think so, I think the rescue would really like for any potential adopter to meet the dog in person not just for the rescue and dog's benefit, but also to ensure that the dog is suitable for what the adopter is looking for. I definitely believe that the requirement was set up in the best interest of both the dog and potential adopters, and I can definitely understand that.

Of course, I'm also completely flailing over here on this side of the country because this boy sounds perfect... but I get it. I do.

I like him and I'm not even a Mal person. LOL.

Is anyone planning any road trips from your general area to TN? Maybe you could hitch a ride? It would be super awesome if you got him. He's adorable and we need more pics. :)
