but I thought this video on breastfeeding in public was something that should be seen.

Its not going to change the minds of those who are just horribly offended and grossed out by it but whatever...for those on the fence though or who dont quite get the bigger picture, this sums it up pretty much for me.

Probably NSFW as tits, shite, and **** are mentioned

Saw this earlier and thought similar things! Very well done.

Here's the embedded version since yours is just a white box.

Thanks Eddie and Erin, someday I will figure out embedding :/
No worries. The biggest thing is that between the "youtube" tags, just put the video ID, not the whole URL to the video. So if the video ID is udZLAMMPkcU then put the [ youtube]udZLAMMPkcU[/ youtube] (spaces added so it doesn't actually embed) and you'll get

You were putting [ youtube]http ://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udZLAMMPkcU[/ youtube]

I love that. I generally don't BF in public - we had a rough start to bf'ing and in most places it makes me uncomfortable. But I'm getting to that point that I just don't care. Baby needs fed, I'm going to feed her. Don't like it, don't look.

I didn't really either. I just couldn't get the hang of getting her there without the aid of a prop or boppy pillow so I always had to take off to the car to do it so I could prop my leg up to rest her on or grab my boppy pillow.

Eddie knows all about my breastfeeding LOL it's what I was doing the first time we met :rofl1:

I've seen these videos various places recently. I actually saw some similar videos that someone shared in the mom's thread here, then on tumblr (where I follow a few mom/parenting blogs), and now on FB. I hope these videos go viral everywhere, not just in mom's circles.

I always thought I would be comfortable breastfeeding in public/in front of people. I'm not extraordinarily modest. I have zero issue getting undressed for doctors, changing in front of friends, and have even strongly considered modeling nude. And truthfully, I could probably go to a crowded food court at a mall and feed my kid fine.

But breastfeeding in front of people I know has made me horribly uncomfortable. I try to plan every single guest/visitor around feedings, and if she needs to eat while they're here, I either tell them to leave or (and I feel horrible about this) just give her a bottle. She was 2.5 weeks old before I'd feed her in my living in front of my immediate family, and that was WITH a cover.

These videos mean a lot more to me than the used to. I used to feel like they were more geared towards the jerks who complain about NIP than to breastfeeding moms. Now I feel like I need the reminder, too :(

Its hard, so hard sometimes.

I was lucky...I am very shy and insecure about my body. When I started bfing my dd I did start off planning trips around it, going to other rooms, and in general kind of panicking about it. Then I got lucky in two way. First, she was a baby that just needed to nurse a LOT...all of the time, lots of short and frequent feedings. Second, my stubborness kicked in and I got to a F you point and just started doing it. Seriously, life got so much easier then and our bfing relationship became much smoother. We had a very rocky start and it couldve easily gone to me giving up because it just seemed too much.

Then I had my son and geez, it was so easy lol. I was in the groove, he was a champ nurser, and we nursed everywhere.

it is a BF question for the advocates , what is not to understand. do you do anything once someone tells you they dont want to BF?

Just saw something on FB and SM today about people making informed decision to not BF and they were bullied and told all kind of horrid things and was wondering what people thought of that.

EDIT~ I guess i should have started my own thread , but boobs and milk are the basic topic lol

Ive never said anyone should be forced to do anything, its a choice everyone makes for themselves (even the video mentions that)

Now, do I think many people are not truly informed, yes. Do I think many people give up because of bad advice/help, yes. Do I wish everyone that could bf did? yes. There is no arguing nutritionally its better but each mom gets to decide for themselves.

That really has nothing to do with this thread though so thats why I was not understanding the point of the question.
