Honestly I 100% agree. The system is totally biased towards women, but it's an angle I'm milking, admittedly with some guilt. I feel bad the system doesn't differentiate between scumbags like Josh and honest men who want to see their babies.
You still MUST journal all these things he says and does. Do not feel safe for one bit that you have been awarded sole custody for now. I am pretty sure all it takes is him filing for custody and then you'll find yourself in the midst of a battle. He might not care about the baby, but if he can use it as a tool to control you, he sure as heck will.

You really are a strong person, Barbara. I couldn't imagine having to goth rough what you have had to deal with thanks to that D-bag of an ex :(.

Just stay strong & keep pushing forward & consent rate on your son.

Thanks!

Signed the lease on my own apartment today. Moving in on the 22nd. Working in management at the daycare. I will be able to take care of my son, and I did that all on my own. Feeling pretty good about myself right now!

Josh just informed me that he proposed to Paige and they are getting married.
Great! He's someone else's problem now.

I'm sorry that you have such an irresponsible ex and that he is the father of your baby. But you're away from him now. He has his own life and you have your's.

At least it's not you. If he would have done this a few months ago, you would have been stuck with him.

I can only hope you laughed at him when he told you. What a joke.

(On a serious note, I really hope this doesn't create problems for you and your son. Do you know anything about this girl? And does she know anything about you? I find it hard to imagine someone wanting to marry a guy who just had some jail issues and ditched his pregnant girlfriend. But, hey, someone for everyone, right?)

Oh, and in six days.

And yes, she knows about me. She knew about me when he cheated on me with her back before I was even pregnant.

Should make getting custody that much easier. I can't imagine anyone would be in favor of him.

Six days... is SHE pregnant?

Yes, just be glad that all this nastiness with your relationship happened before you got married & whatever, then it would have been much harder ... & much more expensive!

Meh, let them have each other, seems like they deserve each other. Just concentrate on making a life for you & Ryland. I wouldn't even put his name on the birth certificate. Better Ryland have no father in his life at all then a father like this one.

I asked that and he said no. But with her attitude about it all, if she isn't pregnant now, then she will be very soon. Of that I have no doubt.

It's just frustrating. I mean, how the hell does that train of thought even WORK? HOW are they justifying that in their heads? He's getting married before his son is even born. Like. What?! Who in their right mind thinks that's okay?

I'm contacting a lawyer first thing this week to ask how that looks in court. Before I wanted him involved with Ryland if he wanted that, but now? I don't want trash like that around my kid. Not at all. So I'm going to go full throttle with fighting for full custody, and make sure the courts know about his abuse. He really hasn't made himself look very good.

I felt bad for crying about it. D was a bit taken aback and confused, but he held me all the same.

I don't blame you for being upset. It's hard to know someone has moved on SO quickly. And no matter how much of an ass he is, I would assume you would have hoped he might, just maybe, man up for his son.

That doesn't seem to be the case. It may never happen. It may happen too late. Or he may be trying to replace what he lost (you and your son) with his new girl and their soon-to-be fetus.

As far as the train of thought goes... Ever watched 16 and Pregnant? People can justify just about anything.
