I have no interest in disconnecting the dump tube to fully remove the wastegate, but I successfully defeated the vband before work yesterday. And after deciding against taking my friend's carbon-back Recaros, I think I may have found some alcantara Sparcos. :D I think I'd prefer the Corbeaus he has, but they aren't fixed-back.

I'm entirely too thrilled that I know exactly what you're talking about.

I finally was able to pick up a box fan tonight, so I might actually be able to sleep! It's been like 19568094 degrees in the apartment this week because of essentially useless little tiny box window a/c unit that is on the other side of the apartment from the bedrooms and does zero to actually cool the place down. However, since this is Colorado, once the sun goes down the outdoors cools down pretty quickly. Now the bedroom is a tolerable temperature!

HAHA. I love how you, Zoom, and I are the only people who sit here and talk car stuff.

YAY for you, and be careful with the Alcantara. Love it, but it wears rough if you're hard on it. And your seats are nice. Are you racing it? Do you need the lightweight seats? I wouldn't waste the money unless it's a comfort thing or you're really racing. You've already got the excess weight stripped out. I think the only extra yours has is AC and a pass. seat, yes?

Good news: I HAVE A PIECE OF **** TRUCK AND IT'S REGISTERED AND IT'S MINE AND IT HAS INSURANCE. ALSO ZOOM HELPED ME BRING IT HOME AND SHE IS AMAZING. <3

Seriously, I don't know why I love this truck so much, BUT I DO!

That is all for now.

YES. You need it.

Can you imagine if we worked night shifts? I would die. This house literally has no AC, and I'm fine with a sheet after about 2am, but before that I'm seriously considering sleeping outside.

In depression
Dunno if this should be in vent or not, but my ankles haven't hurt all day (think I have flaired up Achilles bursitis). Downside is the entire rest of my body hurts like a mofo. **** me and my ideas of taking horseback riding lessons, lol.

Vodka girls night FTW
I'm the only (intact) girl here but yay Vodka! And yay internets! I'm totally caught up on Cyanide and Happiness now as well as Questionable Content. And I have vented about work to some people I used to work with so I got the double awesome of commiseration and knowing it's not going to get back to management at any point.

TL;DR: Boyfriend had to close, I have vodka and wifi.

This. It's an R32 drivetrain swap with a Cummins turbo. Not that I really know much about it except for when it isn't running right, I can identify that. And that I'm kind of terrified to drive it, so I haven't.
Aaaand it doesn't have a wimpy 2.0T. It has a VR6.

Don't read a book by it's cover... or a Jetta by it's "cavalier" exterior. ;)

Then **** yeah. The AWD really does make all the difference. Ig it's an R32 swap it the Jetta a MKIV or MKV?

And a cummins turbo? As in one off of their Diesel engines? I'm really intrigued about that decision. Not saying its a bad one, just that I've never even heard of that before.

Generally don't, but it's been one of those weeks where I've had fifty people tell me their "corolla/a4/accord/etc" handles like a sportscar. At some point my brain exploded.

As much as I love the VR6, I will defend the current gen of the 2.0t. I don't think it's wimpy at all - it's in Audis entire lineup and they're tuning it for 220 stock. That paired with AWD is a formidable combination. You can tune it to the low 300s safely, so that it has as much power as a stock S4. And if you swap a bigger turbo on it, it's delightful. As long as you don't mind turbo lag. :D

Edit: search YouTube for remapped TTSs to see what I mean. I think they're plenty fast stock, though, especially using launch control.

I was just going off of the tune of your original post that there is nothing impressive about the 2.0T.

I adored my VR6, never have had a huge spot for 2.0T. Now turbo that VR6? Good effing lord that is pretty much amazing.

Look you guys, I want a Jeep Wrangler. Stop making me want a sports car. :p ;)
My fiance traded an AMG for our wrangler... not saying I've completely forgiven him, but the wrangler does make me feel pretty badass. It's on 35" tires with rock bars & a winch & I'm fairly confident it will get out of any situation I can get it into. Also it can run over cars like a tank.

bwahahaha, nice. I like the quote "I drive a Jeep. The world is my parking lot"

I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which I love, but I really want a Wrangler. Plus, Wranglers hold their value a hell of a lot better than the Grand Cherokees. Which makes it difficult to get out of the ZJ and into a TJ.
