I am bad and haven't been running lately...since I got Onyx. New motherhood, it's just so exhausting :p I keep telling myself tomorrow. Tomorrow ACTUALLY!

It's not so much of just not feeling well, as it is a resurgence of the issues I was having prior to cutting out most gluten (I find I can have a little here or there, but run into issues if I eat it daily). The main issue being nausea. I used to get nauseous a lot, to the point where every month I had myself convinced I was pregnant, cause that's the only sign, right? :p Cut out gluten, felt great. This month I was praying for my period again. So that's more what makes me think that it's a gluten intolerance.
Hmmm, mmkay. It's hard to say for sure! Nausea could be a product of gluten intolerance or just a "hey my body isn't used to this" response. Either way I'm a big supporter of no gluten though!

I have other issues that are often related to gluten intolerance besides stomach related problems (cold urticaria for one) but if I eat something wheat-y and gluten-y, my stomach hurts within a short amount of time, and I do get that gross bloated feeling. I got accidentally glutened I think two weeks ago and was rather violently ill. It's not pleasant.

You might try looking at rice as a cheap filler. Rice is generally well digested by everybody. There's better stuff as far as nutritional bang for your buck, but if it's between eating some rice or eating wheat and getting a stomachache or feeling sick later, go for the rice!

Thanks, I'm just going to minimize gluten when I can for right now. I dislike rice for the most part, unless it's fried rice, which defeats the purpose :p

I'd much rather eat a sweet potato :p

Hahaha yes fried rice would defeat the purpose. XD
I love me some sweet potatoes... probably more than anybody should. My boss was in town a few months ago and took us all out to dinner. My chicken came with two sides but the only side I could eat was a baked sweet potato. So... I got two sweet potatoes.

And ate them both. With my chicken.

In all fairness it was when I was training for the half so I was in EAT ALL THE CARBS mode haha.

I had one last night from a steakhouse (ribs for birthday dinner!!) and it was SO good. I'm not sure how they did it, but the skin was on and totally whole - no punctures or slices or anything. And the sweet potato inside was SOOOO good. I usually poke the hell out of my potatoes with a fork before I bake them... should I maybe not be doing that??
Or maybe it just tasted extra amazing because I didn't have to cook it. XD

4pm... one hour left before I can get out of here and go to the gym!!

*flail flail flail*

I kinda really want to do BodyPump... but if I do, I can't hit cycling, and I want to do cycling... argh. I miss the days when BP was at 5:30 and cycling 6:30 so I could swing both. =<

Really good workout tonight. Cardio and yoga back to back. 338 calories according to the monitor. I felt really secure with many of the balance moves, too.

Lower body this afternoon. I was proud of myself because there were at least two moves that I usually take breaks on during the workout. I did them all for the full minute today.

Had a fast pitch game tonight. Lots of squats, lots of sweat. Another one tomorrow night (I drew the 12U championship game), then 5 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. I'm gonna be 190 pounds by Monday ;)

All weekend people were commenting on how great I look and how teeny I've gotten.

It was weird but good lol.
Isn't that awesome! I feel great in general, but when people notice, it's a great feeling!

I don't know if anyone here runs/ does intense cardio, but consider a pre-workout drink! I am currently cranked on caffeine and about to run 15k ..a very, very fast 15k based on how I'm feeling at the moment ;) It makes a serious difference in your workouts ..I took a solid 3 minutes off a 5k two days apart. Only difference? One I took GAT& one I didn't. That's crazy!

I never drank caffeine before a race (a long time ago in a high school far, far away) but I usually had a big "carbo load" meal the night before (spaghetti and such).

Does caffeine count as a PED? :rofl1:

I used to be all into pre-workouts. Assault, Jack3D, NOS.. I can't even remember all the ones I tried.

They do give you a caffeine boost. That's about it. When I finally went back to eating and sleeping enough to fuel my workouts I found I didn't need the preworkouts to get me through. JMO, though. Occasional use is probably ok, but if you're using them every day, you might want to rethink your diet and sleep schedule. If your body is telling you that you aren't fueled or rested enough to work out, you should probably listen.

Also, had a friend (guy in his early 30's) get and entire cardiac workup done in the ER due to preworkouts. Chest pain and palpitations. He's fine, and the Dr's didn't find anything wrong with his heart, but told him to layoff the supplements for a while.

Oh, and holy ****! I was down to 214 this morning :yikes: . Clearly, I need to drink more water on days I have games.

Caffeine and you:
http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/11/20/caffeine/

Energy drinks ("What the hell is this?"):
http://www.nomeatathlete.com/energy-drinks/

Three minutes off a 5K isn't really a huge difference or unusual. My short runs during half marathon training (3 to 5 miles, depending on where I am in the schedule) routinely vary by 3-5 minutes.

A friend of mine ran her first 5K eight minutes faster than she had ever completed one in training. Race day endorphin boost. ;>

I used to hit Gatorade up fairly frequently during intense cycling session and thought I "needed" it. Slamming down a Gatorade after a long run was routine. This was all pre-primal - after I went primal and cut Gatorade for being full of sugar and artificial colours/flavours, it was surprising how much I did not in fact "need" it. I was just completely convinced I did. Probably because of all the sugar.

A three minute faster 5k is a big deal to me ;) I was stuck at a solid 25minute 5k ..not exactly stellar. Scoop some caffeine in my belly& woooooo! 22 minute 5k what's up?! It was a personal best so I'll take it!

Edit: I'd love 8 minute faster 5k on race day ..but so many road races, so many solid 25 minute 5k runs :( My 10k is about 47- 49 minutes so I am never sure why I can't have a much faster 5k than I currently do. It sucks.
