Was feeling bittersweet about her birthday today. 9 just sounds so much older than 8.

But I had to laugh at her this evening. I was sitting in the living room and I heard a rustling sound like a plastic bag was being messed with in the back room. I looked over and Mia was asleep next to me. I got up and walked to the back bedroom and SUMMER was back there eating the treats out of the treat bag.

:rofl1::rofl1::rofl1::rofl1:

It's hard when they get older, when Mindy hit 12 it bothered me a lot..

Summer seems to be figuring out the perks of getting older LOL

Once you are nine, there are no rules. You get to do whatever you want.
Somehow Maddie got this memo and I missed it :rofl1:
I can't believe Summer's 9 :yikes: happy birthday to one of my a favorite Paps!!!! :D

Oh man, I know how you feel. Maddie turned the big 11 and I freaked :(

:rofl1: I think I love Millie even more.

Meg isn't quite nine (or is, who knows her actual birthday), but any time she is 'naughty', a term which is relative for such an easy dog, I just tell people "When you are nine years old, you get to do whatever you want. No more rules." It's kind of funny that Summer and Maddie also know this law that I made up!

It's a guess as to how old Charlotte is, but we think she is around 9 or 10 now. Sometimes it bothers me, but then I just remind myself that I should be grateful she's made it to old age, given she was a stray in Nashville. There is no BSL there, but many shelters there don't adopt out Pit Bulls, weather they are friendly or not, because the city is over run with them. My husband didn't know this at the time he adopted her, so it was by extreme luck for her that he decided to take her in, because the people at the house he was staying at were about to take her to animal control.

Old age can be a sad thing, but there are many dogs who never live to see it.
