I'm going to rock pictures for this one since nobody is home to help film me.

Although, the link in my signature has an older video of Dex doing at least one rebound and over. No stalls though :/

Pardon the butt, but this is my favorite back over photo of Dex:

Another fun back over:

A back stall has been one of my goals for a while because I want to do push-ups with Payton standing on my back... I'm totally doing this.

I'm pretty excited about this. I've got Pirate and Bayleigh working on the rebound. So far I've got them both to do it while I'm sitting and then while I'm leaning against the wall. I don't think that Bayleigh will be doing it while I'm fully standing because she's so small but I guess she could rebound off my legs or something. Pirate will get there I think, I want him to do the rebound off my chest.

Emily's continuing the over from last week. She's jumping over my legs or arms.

I recall reading somewhere in the disc dog training thread that the cues for a rebound vs a vault were really distinct; what are those cues?

Part of it is the obvious intent of the handler to throw a disc for the vault and no throw on the rebound. Otherwise most handlers use verbal cues to help prepare the dog before take off (the safest way). I use "fly" for my vaults and "hit it" for my rebounds. What you say doesn't matter as long as you are consistent and varies greatly between teams.

Sekeh, how's it going with Cohen? I think she's around Traveler's size and I feel SO weak after working on it with him.

He balances ok when I have my sister standing at my head and rewarding with the correct placement but when I reward he unbalances because he aims downward instead of up. We're also working on him not launching himself onto my feet because then he just goes flying off and lands on me.

But seriously, my legs are soooo weak it's ridiculous.

Ok, here's our first session of overs (leg and back). Handy to have done the hoop right before this because he's keen on the idea of jumping!

He kind of lands on my back a few of the times, I'd rather we didn't do that too much haha...

I never realized just how big Yarrow was!!! wow, he is a gorgeous boy.

Barefoot! You are brave :) He looks great by the way, good job!
Am I? lol He is so small and light footed (for this trick at least) I didn't feel a thing lol

HOw much dog Dex weigh? I keep thinking I'd like to eventually do the foot stall with Talon, but he is so heavy I feel like my legs would break lol

Thanks! And yeah, he's pretty giant. 93lbs last time I weighted him, and 29'' tall.

About that back stall.... I realized that Yarrow has never really tried getting all four feet on to a surface as small as my back. So that's what we've started doing. For now I'll keep working on the overs and maybe eventually we'll get to a back stall. And then I might die and it will be all you guys' fault!!!

Here's a video showing what we've kind of been working on/spinning around in my head. A flip off of a footstall. Now I'm not saying this is an entirely safe move, but I wanted to see just how she would land it. We did practice a bunch on an exercise ball first to teach her to jump from an unsteady surface.

Also, at the beginning there is a blooper showing why you don't have multiple foostall dogs out working at the same time. :rofl1:

Someone tell me this is a bad idea and I should stop doing it. I'm still debating whether I want to go ahead and continue training this, or if it's just flat out not a good idea.

So Georgie can totally do this. And it's kind of hysterical (to me.)
Video later tonight.

I asked my mom to help me and she was like "Uh so is this for exercise?" "No! It's a TRICK!" "..."

Also holy crap, push-ups with Payton on my back = ow, push-ups with Georgie on my back = it's like there's nothing even there!!

So, we are the boringest. :p I suppose once we get outside away from the cat tree, maybe this will be more impressive.

I can't do a foot stall - my back is all out of whack and somehow I can't like get my feet up in that position? So I abandoned that and we will do a back stall. Also good :)

Finkie Mom-I like that you say your back is out of whack so you have her do a back stall :rofl1: Cracked me up! She looks great, so adorable!

Sass-Anything Squash does is amazing and cute. No matter what so it can't be boring! I bet that becomes super enthusiastic soon!

Sara-Do it and don't die. Because awesome.

Pretty much there I think? Any ideas for making these better? (I totally lost my balance a few times here with the leg overs, but I could be going higher with those for sure). Stoked about the back overs! He's pretty springy for a big dude!

I've been packing all day today, so I've not worked on it. I'm working on getting Cohen to stall on my shins at the moment. I'm finding decent success by throwing a towel over my shins and then cuing her up. I can hold the towel tight to stabilize my legs a bit, and I can use the towel as a target as I move it to my feet. My husband works tomorrow, so I'll hopefully have a chance to work on it a bit more! **** fatty big(ish) dogs.

Still feel totally weak. :)
