I normally just use kid shampoo on Muffin and wash him in the shower. But, I wanted to try a force air dryer on him bc he was blowing his coat. So, I went to a self-serve dog wash and they gave me a plum shampoo that smelt AMAZING! I didn't think to ask what kind. LOL.

Anyway, I was just wondering what kind of shampoos everyone uses. I don't mind mixing myself, especially if it saves $ in the long run.

I like having really good stuff. I bathe Jackson weekly, and with his type of hair, I just like "the good stuff".

My favorite is Chris Christensen, it smells amazing and it makes his coat so incredibly soft. I got it for a great deal from Cherrybrook.com.

I usually use Cloudstar's Buddy Wash and Buddy Rinse. I think I got it from Jeffers, but can't remember. Unfortunately, nobody around here carries it. Lately, tho, I've been using Hypo Plus (from Groomer's Edge), followed by Buddy Rinse. The manager at Cherrybrook recommended it to me last year when Caleb was really itchy.

I use Groomer's Edge Emerald Black on every dog I own including the non-black ones (because short, hard coats don't really pick up dyes well), because I love the way it smells... Something like 45 bucks for a gallon of the stuff that dilutes 32:1.

Probably not helpful if you have a floofy-coated dog with high white markings.

I use Nature's Specialties... love the stuff!

Almond Crisp for the Dobes, and Dirty Dog for Talla and Revy.

Which Chris Christensen do you like best? I read the descriptions, I was thinking maybe system 10? Have you smelt that one before? LOL. I'm really going for smell. They had little trial size kits, I might buy one to see. LOL.

For the buddy wash, is that just for itchy skin? He's not really so itchy, I actually try not to wash too often bc I fear drying him out.

And yeah, Muffin is fluffy red & white... LOL. Black shampoo probably wouldn't work for us. :p I was browsing petedge though. They say they have samples, I may call them up and ask them for more info on the samples. Then buy a gallon if I like any.

I use buddy wash too. Found it at Home Goods for a couple bucks. In the almost 5 years we've had Lucy, I'm only on my second bottle of shampoo! (The first one was avoderm)

BioGroom here! Love love love the smell, it stays in their coats for days/weeks, and makes the fur so soft. Plus, I don't like the $12+ price of most other quality shampoos.

Dang CaliTerp, 2 bottles in 5 years?! I feel like I go through a 1/4 of a bottle with Lizzie's thick fur sometimes!

It lathers up really nicely! Plus, Lucy's fluffy but she's pretty darn small (cocker spaniel sized).

Dunno, maybe my husband's just a magical shampoo-er! (he lathers, I stuff treats in the doggy's mouth!)

We went through 2 bottles in 16 years with Rosey... and the first one was still half full

Yeah, I probably go through like a bottle or so a year. He gets washed a lot in the summer bc he's gross, he stays cleaner in the winter. And I usually double wash him with shampoo. I don't know how much I will go through without Walsh, but Muffin def used most of the shampoo anyway.

I usually bring the shampoos with the busted caps home from work...so whatever's in the cabinet :D.

Buddy Wash is good. I do love Tropiclean shampoos (the neem is good for repelling flea/ticks!). I have some stuff from John Masters Organics that is good. Planet Dog Peppermint is yummy.

Fresh N Clean smells a bit like 'dog shampoo' (har har) but the scent seriously lasts like a month. I can smell it on MYSELF three days later.

We just got Mutt Nose Best in the my store, and I have some samples from the show, it's great!

Sizzle, where do you buy yours? I've heard someone else say they like that brand too.
I buy it directly from the company, or Amazon now since I have Prime. ;)

It's decently priced, and most of the competitive groomers I worked with use it exclusively.

I'll be honest, I've had terrible luck with Chris Christensen, Pure Paws, Espana Silk, etc. They always tend to make my dogs break out in hives. (Even after proper dilution. I find most people don't correctly dilute their shampoos.)

I use Douxo Calm, it helps a lot with Pip's allergies but I use it for Squash, too. In the summers Pip gets at least a bath a week but in the winter they barely get bathed at all.

I think my favorite shampoo that I've used is Topline Canine. The sad part is I'm pretty sure they don't make it anymore, so that's ultra helpful, huh :p I have a bottle of shampoo and conditioner and I get a little bit sad every time I use them, because once it's gone.... it's gone. But man it smells good (and the smell lingers) and makes Juno very silky.

For Happy I use Mutt Nose Best and I really like it, however the scent only seems to last about a day.

I just buy locally. I love hitting up TJ Maxx/Home Goods for cheap shampoos. I bought this shampoo a couple years ago for a couple bucks and I still think it is wonderfully delicious smelling: http://www.nilodor.com/OnlineCatalog/Ultra_Value_Shampoo__Pearberry_Bliss-details.aspx
I've never seen it anywhere else and know nothing of the brand but I like it. It's another one where the scent seems to last a while.

The plum stuff could have been Kelcos Plum White http://www.renspets.com/plum-white-shampoo-gallon.html I used to use it all the time.
Now I use Chris C as well, I have white on white, peppermint and sugar cookie lol, and ice on ice spray, I love that stuff! For I use the CC stuff, Gage's giant shedding butt gets whatever I can find, lol, I have buddy wash, and some happy tails stuff, some pet head stuff, oh some john paul stuff, for Diesel I adore http://www.happytailsspa.com/BubblesnBeads, by far my favorite for his particular coat, I makes him soooo soft and he smells fantastic forever.
