Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. I went to watch a Mondio trial this weekend but it went badly and I left.

No training here either, DH and his dog were at the Working Dog Championship.

These are awesome, I didn't know you did ring? Very cool! Great photos, they're really fun and clean.
I've never competed in Ring. Some of my friends do, so I do some with them and try and do as much decoy work as possible. It's a fairly new endeavor for me compared to IPO. Been exposed and dabbling off and on for a few years with Ring stuff, only been doing it on a consistent basis for just under 2 years. I really like them both, but I like most things that involve doing stuff with your dog. :)

I did want to ask you some questions though on photography. I know you're busy, so whenever you have time or have an idea. But we were indoors, not great lighting. Thankfully the 85 1.8 is a pretty capable lens. Some pictures turned out, and I was very happy with the quality shooting around 400-640 with a 3200ISO. But when I shot with AI Servo and burst, i would get one pic good, the next frame would be all dark or half or a 3rd would be totally different. Like the white balance was off for part of it, or something was causing a "shadow" on part of the pic.

You can kind of see what I'm talking about with the first pic after "bacon lips". the right 3rd of the pic looks to have a different contrast and everything than the rest. and the 2nd pic in the pivot leg sequence you can see it too.

Not as bad as some others. But even stationary objects and myself in the same spot, I'd get some that seemed exposed properly and the next frame half to a 3rd would be goofy and the next might be the same, but instead of the right side being messy, it would be the left, then the next frame would be good.

Other times, the entire sequence would be just fine. I don't know what causes that or if you have any ideas???? I'll try and find a better example. I deleted a lot of them already, but I'll see if I can find a better example when I get home tonight.

Thanks

I thought about going, but a 30 minute drive for a good training weekend with friends easily won out over a 7+hour drive :)

How did he do?

I hear you. I'd always rather train unless I'm the one competing.

He tied Mike D. for first place, but had the lower protection score (some control issues) So second place over all, won the HOT Championship. 95-96-96= 287 V

SO, you're saying he did well? :) Awesome job!! Those are great scores against some tough competition.

And Sean O'Kane had a 286. To say that it was nail bitingly close competition would be an understatement. It was awesome to watch.

Your pictures are all awesome and I can't pick a favorite.

And eek! Is that an Eager I spy?
