Imaginary friends?

Wow so many imaginary people!!! Cool!

To add, I have two sisters and two brothers so I was never lonely, I just loved my fake world.

I never have had imaginary friends. I had dogs and friends growing up so I really didn't have that phase as a kid.

I refer to everyone on this board as my imaginary dog friends.

I never had any imaginary friends. But my imagination has always been very vivid and crazy.

I always imagined things while I was riding in the car. My favorite was dragons. Sometimes running by the car but often just like we were on a safari. I always thought that would be awesome.

The car is still my favorite place to think up stories. Only now my stories are a lot darker than they used to be. I have stories going on all the time and pick them up at least once a day or so. It's probably a bit insane but I love getting to play out all sorts of fantastical scenarios in my head. If only I could write them all down in a way that made sense and made them interesting.... It's like having constant access to movies though. And I still remember my favorites from over the years and will often 'replay' them.

But I really think for my age as a kid my stories were really complicated and often a lot darker than you'd expect. I miss getting to play with toys sometimes. My sister and I had some CRAZY good stories we'd play out. And we'd play out the same ones quite a lot.I probably played with toys way too long lol.

I didn't really have imaginary friends, I did have a couple imaginary dogs/animals.

My little sister, at the age of three years old, had 'Fred The Mommy Lizard'.

So many people had such interesting imaginary characters in their lives growing up!

I had a shape-shifting companion named Ayra for a while. She was pretty much like my daemon if you've read The Golden Compass, or an animal version of a Shadow if you've read The Seventh Tower. Ayra preferred to either be a wolf or a bat. When she was a bat, she would fly around my head or hang from my finger. If she were a wolf, she'd walk at my side and I'd bury my fingers in her fur. I thought our minds were connected, so we never talked out loud, but I did act out every action that involved her. I bet a lot of people wondered why I was walking around with my finger poked out.

I am an only child and I would retreat into my toy room all by myself for hours on end and talk to my toys and we would have lots of adventures, it was a magical time. I can even remember bawling my eyes out when one of my toys would "die" in a story I made.

And my animal that ran and jumped along side the car on drives was a Cheetah!

The dogs would also get pulled into my play. We had a Springer spaniel when I was little and my mom has me on video with ALL my dog toys sitting under the kitchen table with our Springer. The Springer(a bitch named Bandit) was "Pongo" and all the dog toys were the puppies and I in a perfect English accent would reenact scenes from 101 Dalmatians.

Yesterday Lady and the Tramp came with us for a car ride and when we were on our way Hannah told me Tramp had to pee. I asked if he could wait, she asked him and told me that he could wait. When we got to our destination she said Mommy, you need to take tramp out and let him pee in the grass. I essentially had to take a stuffed dog for a "walk" so he would pee lol. Lady did not have to pee thankfully.

Oh I almost forgot about Lilah's baby marley!!!! She was not quite two when she started talking about her little tiny dog named Baby Marley. Baby Marley was a stinker lol....Lilah would frequently tell us he ran away so we would have to walk around looking for him over and over...

He I would classify as a true imaginary friend, like my Tuna. Now both kids have great imaginations and often make friends up, have stuffed animals come to life, etc. Cian is so enamored wiht his Angry Bird stuffed animals right now...we have bday parties for them, give them "dust baths" (so much fun to clean lol", get food for them, etc etc.

I definitely pretended I had a daemon too, I really loved those books as a kid. He had a name, but I don't remember it...usually he was a horse/dog/wolf/falcon/weasel that would follow me around and run alongside the car. I also had an imaginary miniature horse named Thunderbolt when I was really little.

I am still half convinced that Mia is my daemon some days. lol

Nacho has sort of imaginary friends, does that count? He has stuffed animals that he feeds, tucks in to sleep, wrestles with, and puts in the litter box to potty . He also outs them in the time out corner when they're naughty.
