Is it weird that I keep checking this thread to see if any Chazzers know my favorite celebrity, so that I might discover a way to actually meet him? :rofl1:

I was going to say no, but then I realized that might not necessarily be true. I just don't tend to take not of whether a person is famous or not. Adam's dad might be considered well-known, not famous. His uncle is a photographer who might also qualify as well-known.

I've met Art Smith. He catered their holiday party. It was heaven. His personality is just as amazing as his food.

I think I've met a bunch of people that are "famous," I just don't keep tabs.

I met Amber Marshall who plays the lead character on Heartland. She was at a herding trial and even takes lessons from one of the instructors my friends go to with her GSD. She was very nice and sweet, didn't even think she was a big star at all (heartland is super popular here).
That is cool! I watched that show for a while.

My uncle (through marriage) is a pretty well known author - Andrew Sean Greer. Visiting him once I went out for dinner and drinks with "Lemony Snicket" (totally not his real name) who is a good friend of his. And then my mom bought Lemony Snicket's old car, which I think is pretty funny.

My uncle is also good friends with the dude who plays Ted Moseby in How I Met Your Mother. But I haven't met him.

I think the most exciting one for me was meeting Keiko (the whale from Free Willy) when I was 8. I was so excited!

I have such a hard time recognizing people that if I met a celebrity, I'd probably not know it.

However, when I do meet a dog trainer/behaviorist/whatever that I'm a huge fan of, I get all super nervous and giddy and generally just clam up. I'm so afraid of saying something stupid, that I just don't say anything at all!

The closest i have ever gotten to a celebrity encounter was Chad Kroger pet my horse and asked me how I got her to listen with no saddle or bridle when I was a young teenager. Then a couple years later I was an extra in a nickleback video

Considering I really dislike nickleback it was not that great. I don't care about celebs. They are just people though I would crap my pants if I got to meet the author of my favorite books. That man helped me through a very dark time without even knowing it.

I've met some celebs, but I can't say I really know any on a personal level. Some pro athletes that would be famous among their team's fans. I did do helper work for a Olympic Gold medalist in Track and Field. He still owns the world record I think and his son plays in the NBA, but I never met the son.

I know a few that are pretty well known within their circles of influence, like dog trainers and a few others, but I don't know anybody personally that transcends that stuff. Like Tom Hanks, or Tiger Woods, people that everybody has heard of at least

Was a time I could say the same about Al Yankovic, but it's been a long time since I've seen him.
ha, that's funny. A pretty good friend of mine in college knew him fairly well. His dad made the cases they stored and traveled with their instruments in. They played in our city when I was in school, but I regrettably didn't take my friend up on tickets and a party back at the hotel with Weird Al and the band. :) That consisted of him and the drummer sitting in the hotel lounge bar talking about fishing :p No weird Al though

I friended Pamela Dennison on Facebook and I go stupid any time she likes/comments on any thing of mine. Once she commented on a photo and my boyfriend said something weird and I was like "STOP. DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE TALKING TO RIGHT NOW?" :p
Mick & I were in classes with Pam & Cody years before she opened her training center. She just moved her school to a strip mall about 5 minutes from us about a year ago. I also knew the three Aussies that were on the cover of her first book. They're all gone now, but their owner and I do Nosework together.

I "know" John Madden in the sense that we've had dinner once in a while over the last 8 years. I do HVAC work on his mansion in Pleasanton, CA about 3 times a year.

I've always wanted to ask him to do a play by play of me doing an install. Ha ha.

EDIT: I should say, I am not a football fan at all. So while it makes everyone at work insanely jealous, I really have no hero worship with this guy.

That said, if I could have a night with Peter Dinklage I'd be ectastic. :hail:

And here I was excited to be merely FB friends when she adds any one. Not only do I idolize her, but she's also hilarious. And currently has purple hair.

I haven't actually seen Pam since she had her grooming shop in town. We were signed up for her acting classes a few years ago, but not enough people signed up, at least for the time frame I did, so we dropped it.

What the heck is it with middle aged woman and purple hair? :lol-sign:

Nope, not really- other than dog trainers. I have had lunch with Karen Pryor when she was in Denver, I know Leslie McDevitt and Suzanne Clothier pretty well, and I have had a few conversations with Ian Dunbar. I have also met Victoria Stillwell, but not enough to really "know" her.

Oh, I guess I sort of met Julia Roberts once. She came through my hometown, Carlsbad NM, on her way to somewhere. She was sitting a few tables down from us at a tiny little resteraunt, and my mom has her autograph somewhere but I was only 8 or something at the time so I didn't really know who she was that well.
