Nope, it's a combination of the comics and other creative minds. Daryl doesn't exist in the comics and a few of the characters are already dead. :) (I very loosely follow them)

Yeah I like Norman ... It's a genuinely nice guy, lol on TD when he filmed walker Merle's death scene he said that he listened to a willy Nelson song that reminded him of his father before he shot that scene ... He said the years were real.

Oh, just one more thing. Am I missing something or was it incredibly stupid of them to take all those people and go back to the prison where they have nothing? It would have made so much more sense to stay in Woodbury and just snipe the Governor and his peeps when they came "home". I mean, they have so many resources at Woodbury and it's so much more... pleasant-looking.

Heh I would use done a lot of things differently ... Like once the gov & his goons were inside where the walkers were (since as far as they knew Rico's group cleared the prison completely) I would have snuck up behind them & closed & locked them in ... THEN set off the flash-bang gernade.

There are some things that I don't think they could do like they play out in the comics ... Some of the situations: lori's & Glenn's comic deaths are pretty horrific (wont spoil them for those who don't follow the comics ... I will let them read TWD wikia page).

So maybe their story deviance has something to do with what they can & can't get away with on basic cable .... The last episode I saw finally had an MA rating.

The prison is actually a lot more secure, the town is home-y but you can clear corridors and fix fences at the prison for a ton more security from geeks.

Psychological change by bringing them to the prison. If ricks crew goes to Woodbury they are joining them & it sets the stage for disobedience & hostility. Bring them to the prison they have to drive by & see where the gov killed their loved ones & they are leaving the place they owned to come under someone else's roof. Now Rick should send a couple of people to touch base with the vatos in ATL and see if they want to try to bring their elderly out to the prison. Also try to bring back some of the military vehicles with their machine guns. And he needs to cut the trees down for 800 yards around the fence line to make a kill zone/crop fields. Use the pine logs to reinforce the fence & build gates and put up the hardwood for making furniture & firewood. Also start working to convert the prison boilers to wood burners. Start clearing the rubble in the back & use it for building sentry/ fighting bunkers. Set tetrahedrons & concrete traffic barriers to force vehicles to stay on the road & drive slow. Get the 50 cal machinegun back in service & prep fighting positions that the humvee can move around Send out scavenging parties to look for farming equipment, seed & live stock. Build pigeon lofts on top of the buildings. Once they have something to show for their work go try to talk Morgan into joining them. Set up a governing council of about 5-7 making sure Tyreese (sp?) and Herschel are on it (my personal other picks would be Daryll & Maggie). Being GA, there have to be feral hogs out there waiting to be trapped. Just off the top of my head, give some time to think about it & I'm sure I can think of a few dozen other things they need to do.

I'm totally late here, but I'm pro Carl shooting Jody. And not just because of the sketchy way he was handing his gun to him after he was asked to drop it. First, Carl was with a disabled old man, a young gal who ain't been doing much, and an infant. Second, this kid just stormed the prison to kill them. He had no way of knowing the Governor would mow every one down anyway, so all he was presented with was someone who came to kill them fleeing to presumably go back to Woodbury to regroup and come back again.

And Rick can't say **** to him. He only then discovered "Hey, maybe we should save people like we used to.." and Carl was with him when they drove passed a lone man begging them to save him, only leaving him to die.

Milton broke my heart. I wanted him to live. In my finale he made it to the prison where Herschel showed him his leg and they all lived happily ever after. Her name escapes me now (Dr. Andrews?) but I thought he would fill her position from the comic.

Ha! Rick can say **** because he's his father and this season was all about Rick finding the humanity he lost. I am excited to see what that holds for his little sociopath, Carl, in the next season.

I agree else-wise. :p

Also, being GA, there is a CRAP TON of deer, rabbit, opossums and even quite a lot of wild turkeys.

I've heard deer isn't too hard to breed in captivity if you have tall enough fences lol.

Do you think the prison compound is big enough? & even if it is, the presence of animals in addition to humans would bring way too many walkers for the benifits to outweigh the risks.
