i try go every night if i could - deer are roaring now so there is mobs of idiots from the city shooting the place up and stock-squad have got cameras up in trees everywhere trying to get rego plates and they are noting all traffic in and out - all state forest here so you get caught you lose vehicle, guns everything. wild dogs breeding season as well so 10-80 is everywhere at the moment, i doubt it is all legally placed and marked, in fact i can say a lot isn't.

poor old stock-dogs are muzzled all day so they can't pick up a bait while working.

i'm out kingaroy way, where is 40mins from GC?? what dogs you got?

**** that sucks there is so many idiots out at the moment, it's a shame when you have to take a back seat from hunting. When do you think people will start backing off again? I believe a lot of that probably isn't legal but some people don't care for the rules so what can you really do? Such bull you need to keep them muzzled because of bait but at least the stock dogs will be safe!

I'm in Beenleigh. I searched Kingaroy and it seems you are about 2 hours from me. I don't hunt so I own two simple pet dogs, lol. I wish I could go hunting but I dought I could find anyone who'd let me take these two and give them a shot - I know they'd love it. I own a 6yo Lab x Staffy who is very friendly. I own a 2yo Kelpie x Red Heeler who sadly has slight fear issues depending on the situation, around people and dogs but she's slowly improving. I wish I could work her more because I think that would help her a lot.

How long have you lived at kingaroy for?

been out his way since 04 i think.

careful if you take yr dogs out with any old random. you can go out and have nothing happen or you can go out and have yr dogs opened up within a minute of leaving the truck, it's a process and not fair to just go give yr dogs a "shot" at it if you value them.

personally my pack is tight and briinging a strange dog or two in cold is dangerous as mine are just as likely to turn on them miles from the handlers.

if yr male do you decoy or are you willing to learn?? if yr female disregard last question.

decoying is essentailly pretending to be a bad guy and teaching a dog the skills to effectively fight a man.

i think there a women decoys but just my personal bias and not being sexist i have never seen a female decoy that i would employ, having said that for a puppy i will ask a women to do some intial non-threatening work cos they are generally...less threatening.

furthermore i never want my dog to view any woman or child as a threat. if i ever get mugged by a women then things might change :lol-sign:

Belated welcome to Chaz! I recognize your dogs from the GSD board, nice to see you here.
hi there, eventually the folks there would have enough of me posting about my 3 non-gsd's mutts so i thought i would join an all breeds forum. seems like a fun place here.

in the broadest sense yes but specifically no, i don't do schuts - don't think i am wired right to survive the club scene politics etc.

schuts is like high art, the goal to get extreme precision in stylised way with a specific type of bite in a specific place, the forearm and get more points than the other guy doing the exact same thing.

for myself on the other hand i will get a decoy to jump thru my window on a moonless night comin up from down wind of the dogs on an unspecified random day and time and enter my room and start smashing up the furniture and expect the dog to eliminate the threat, kind of the same but different.
