Awwww, I'm quite a ways from Des Moines, and with my car the way it is I'm not going more than 30 minutes away right now (I can make it to the Pavillions in Valley Center, but not much farther :( ).

*Bump*

BF and I are looking at that weekend.

What day is the best day to have a meet up? I have a wedding to go to Thursday and I'm not sure if I'll still be there Friday as it's near Little Rock.

I don't mind taking off work, but if I can plan to take off on a day when you all (or most of you?) would be there, that would be ideal.

I'm super stoked about this now :D

Looks like we'll all be in the same place (lure coursing) Friday, but I'll still be around (conformation) Saturday-Monday.

We'll be there all day Friday and will head home on Saturday after the CAT.

We also have two other dobe people caravanning down with us - so we'll probably have a little dobe party in the evening. Maybe Chaz meetup for lunch on Friday? :)

What is this "lunch" you speak of? I don't think I've ever had lunch on a dog show weekend :rofl1:

Really, though, if it was like last year, they do take a lunch break between lure coursing trials. I just ran and got a lukewarm tea at Quiktrip, but lunch would be good!

So, there's a B Match Friday afternoon/evening, entitled "PUPPIES, PUPPIES AND MORE PUPPIES." But under classes, it lists 3-6 months, 6-9 months, 9-12 months, Open, Misc, FSS, and Juniors. So, is this JUST for puppies, or can big dogs play too?

If nobody knows, I'm going to email the person on this thing tomorrow.

Also, conformation entries are in, grooming stuff is ordered, conformation outfit is bought, and coursing entries are getting mailed tomorrow! :D :D :D

I ended up not getting a reserved grooming spot because I forgot. So I'll just have to stake a claim on a spot Friday morning or something lol. Last year the weather wasn't too hot so the dogs were "crated" in the car for lure coursing, in that case I can dump my crate in the free grooming area before coursing. I also need to get a sheet of plywood or something to put on top of Logan's crate to use as a grooming table.

Big dogs are allowed to do the fun match too! I've always done fun matches with adult dogs, it's more ring time - more practice - and less entries so generally you have a decent chance of winning your group.

How warm is it supposed to be? I'm SUPER excited!!! It's 16 days away and I've already started packing. (Can you tell this is our first show of the season? WAY too excited.)

The 10-day forecast doesn't quite reach that far yet, but averages for that weekend are highs around 65 and lows around 42. Right now we've been bouncing around from freaking cold to freaking hot, so let's hope it stabilizes and is just nice and warm lol!

The record high for that Saturday was 98. NO THANK YOU.

Also, is that the match Poison is going to be in?!

I'll bring a ton of layers, just in case! Rainboots are already in the Element, in case I need them!

And yes, that's the fun match Poison will be in! Puppies will not compete against adults, in case you were wondering.

EVERYTHING IS SENT IN! I even went ahead and entered Logan in the match Friday night.

I want the judging program NAO PLZ! I want to know when Logan's ring time is on Saturday, so I know if I can get him into the CAT on Saturday. I really really really really hope I can, because then at the end of May there are 4 CATs in Tulsa, and he may be able to get his CAA! Gavroche ought to be getting his CA at the Cluster.

OH. And I just found out that Collie nationals are THE SAME FREAKING WEEKEND. So I seriously doubt I'll have much, if any, competition. If there are no other smoothies, he has to get group 1st to get any points, right? >.< At least there are some decent prizes for best of variety!

Isn't it FUN to plan?!?! Kaylee will finish her CAA in early May. She'll get Q # 5-7 in Wichita, then 8-9 in Des Moines, then we're making a special trip up to Ramsey MN for Q#10! And the best part is, the Ramsey club gives out new title medallions. ;)
