Helmi (as suggested by Romy) is my grandmother's name. :)
Helmi does sound girly... lol. It's hard to find manly jewel names.

Kaia's dam is named Inari, after a village in Finland. I have no idea what Inari means in Finnish, but on the other side of the world Inari is also a Japanese god of foxes which is kind of awesome for a finkie. I've seen it used as a unisex name in Japan.

OK so I have a couple more names, and still a few of the original ones in the running. I think we are keeping Chunker. Here's a picture for inspiration:

Tukeva Kettu (means sturdy/chunky fox)
Into (zest, zeal)
Sonni (bull - I keep calling him a bull in a China shop)
Ensio (first)
Koru (jewel)

TOO MANY OPTIONS.

After seeing the picture, I think Into fits, taking the meaning into consideration. :) He's too adorable!

I like Sonni!

Is it pronounced "Sunny"? As a frequent gate person at trials, I hate names that aren't pronounced the way they look.

Nope, it's pronounced like Sony :p

You would hate Kimma then LOL. Everyone says Kim-ah, rather than the correct Kee-mah. Doesn't bug me, though :)

lol If you didn't care and didn't say anything, I would be less bothered. It's the people with really out there names who act all offended when you pronounce it wrong.

I still like Sonni :p

Oh yeah, no. I would totally say it wrong if I were just reading it, so I would never be rude about it :)

As long as I know when they're calling me, I'm good :D

^This lol.

"Day-BU-yah?"

*huffy* "No it's Dee-bu-YAY" *glare*

Oh. Right. Sorry. My bad. How could I possibly have gotten that wrong?

:p

(It's about 50/50 whether the gate pronounces Mira's name MEER-ah or MY-rah. I don't bother correcting them unless they ask me which it is. I don't care lol.)

And yeah of those I like Sonni best. Given you don't care if people butcher it lol.
