How do I forget that running in early spring in Illinois means WIND WIND THE WIND THERE'S SO MUCH WIND! Also cold, so my nose was running and I couldn't really breathe out of my nose. I had to take a quick walk break about halfway through just so I could breathe, all gasping for air out of my mouth... and I only did a four miler... ugh!

I love that this marathon is in my city so I hate to quit doing it, but the timing sucks and every year we all have to struggle through the cold and the wind and the snow to train... if it were one month later it would be perfect, but it's not so. Indy's marathon is in October which isn't much better because that puts a lot of training in August (hot hot humid humid can't breathe then either!)
I suppose if I had all the monies I would do Chicago races, because there's no lack of those at better times. But those are freakin' expensive. My friend keeps wanting me to do some of these "event" 5Ks, like there's something called the foam run I think... just running the 5K cost MORE than what it cost to sign up for my half plus the 5K here. I can't justify $70+ for a 5K. Oogh.

I just signed up to run a 5K LOL what was I thinking? I'm mostly doing it to be moral support for a friend who is nervous to do her first run (she's training for a run in May and she's terrified of looking like a fool) but... i don't run lol I've certainly not been training for this. Pray for me :p

Hip hop abs 30 minute Fat burning Cardio and 25 minute ab sculpt DONE!
Woohoo!

I woke up this morning a tad earlier and did the 5 minute last minute Abs. Got home and did my Jillian Michaels shred. I'm babysitting my sister and we had a giant dance party, LOL... I incorporated some of my workout moves with the dancing and used my 5lb weights for some of them and was just being an all around crazy mess. I was sweating like crazy and probably looked like a fool, thank goodness no one else was home!

Well I lost like 4lbs ... due to the flu!! Ugh. I was up all night Wednesday, or rather Thurs morning, with this horrible stomach virus. Ate nothing but saltines yesterday and gatorade. Horrible timing, I was just getting all pumped back up. Hopefully I won't be down very much longer. I just cleaned all my sheets etc and cleaned the bathroom thinking I was better and it totally wore me out.

I got the flu Wednesday morning and was stuck in bed for 2 days, eating nothing and drinking only small amounts of water -_-

Everyone else here is sick. Not me. One with pneumonia, one with a concussion, one with the flu. Xena is healthy at least.

As for me, appropriate food was eaten, abs crunched, legs lifted, ups pushed, cardio completed, ass was kicked. :D

Felt super sick to my stomach and ran five miles anyway... strongly considered turning around after the first mile. Just felt really ill. When I got home I lay on the floor for a few minutes because I thought I might puke. Blech. I hope this stomach issue goes away shortly, I have been ENJOYING my life of not being sick all the time!
My GPS watch then told me I ran my fastest mile since getting the watch last weekend. 8:45. Huh. Who knew.

Signed up for a mud run on April 20th! It's only a 5K, but I have been doing everything but running here of late. Started training for it a few days ago.

I've also lost the very stubborn last five pounds my body was hanging onto! Down to 125.

we did it :D We did the whole 4 miles. We didn't RUN the whole time but we kept a pretty consistent slow jog through most of it. 4 miles in 1 hr 2 minutes. Not bad for our first time out running on the pavement (my first time running EVER lol). I just kept telling my friend, Cheryl, No matter what happens... as long as we finish the race this will be our best race to date LOL.

it was 32 degrees, snowing and sleeting. We'll probably wake up with pneumonia tomorrow or something lol but we had fun, met some people, had some laughs and we finished the race.

that being said... we are going to be SORRRRRRRRE tomorrow lol

Thats awesome Tanya! I want to get back into running and your post has inspired me to start.

I've kicked this year off with a wicked bang. This is me about a year ago. I was freshly pregnant with Blake. I started that pregnancy 25lbs heavier than I like being. Its a little hard to tell due to being more clothed but you can really see it in my face.

Considering last year I went through a pregnancy (put on 35 lbs that pregnancy) and all I have done is breastfeed, eat much better than before and take the kids on 4-5 hour walks 3-4 days a week I am super happy with my progress.

and my boys are growing too fast. They are huge! (38 lbs and 18 lbs, both are super tall for their age too).

Thank you :) Good luck in your ventures in running :D we are planning on doing a 5 K in June. it's a glow race at night :D so that will be fun. We learned some things in this race that will help us do better next time PLUS we have a few months to train more and we'll be in even better shape.

You can really see it in your face :) That's how it is with me too... always shows in my face first lol. You are making great progress and I look forward to hearing more from you.

Your boys are super cute. WOW 38 lbs. he's a solid boy :) how tall is he? Hannah just keeps getting taller and skinnier lol. She's 5 1/2 and only 38 lbs and 43 inches tall lol. she's getting to the age where she could be in a booster seat but she doesn't meet the weight requirement yet lol. Her carseat still fits her weight wise but she's getting too tall so the straps are getting uncomfortable for her.

On another note, I am hurting today but actually not as bad as I was expecting. I was expecting calf and other various leg cramps throughout the night and didn't have any. My calves aren't sore at all but my quads and my hips and groin are pretty sore. stairs suck LOL. BUT I got out of bed under my own power without any help from Brian LOL so that's a good thing. I'm going to do my workouts today and do a nice stretch before and after and hopefully that will help

The difference is really noticeable in my lower tummy, upper thigh area too but I wasn't exaclty running around in a bikini before.

Briggs is well over 3 feet tall. I am 5'2 and he is over half my height now. :(
