Look who was free today!

Yup, over the past couple of days Beau has been enjoying time out of his pen and just roaming the field and yard "free" from me controlling the leash. I put him on a about 150 ft long line and just let him drag it around as we walked around on my land. He had a blast. This is easier on him due to his age and he's not one for walks on pavement. He loves being able to sniff for rabbits and deer and looking at the chickens.

Plus for some reason he seems to have better recall with the leash on him.

(And no worries Takoda has been getting walks everyday and has enjoyed her time with me as well )

Glad to see you're getting the dogs off their tie-outs and doing more things with them. Beau definitely looks happier.

Thank you! He is happier and I've noticed it in his training as well, he wants to sniff, but will look and seek me out if he ventures off to far.

His recall has improved by leaps and bounds and he's so much more relaxed as well.

My hound dog is also better behaved while on a long line vs off leash, even if I'm not holding the line lol.
