How did you get involved with, or find, Chaz?

I was looking for info on Dobermans... I wanted one. I adopted one and it didn't work out.

I ended up staying anyway and ending up with another dog, one from my neighbors. Oh, and in the meantime accused of dumping the doberman we adopted on the side of the road. (Not what actually happened - he was returned to the rescue because I couldn't handle a high-energy dog. But, because I didn't post about it publicly, all kinds of accusations were made by a group of people who permanently left the forum.)

Ironically, now that I know I can handle a Dobe, I don't want one. I mean, I want one - I really want one - but I don't want to deal with short fur the next time around.

I left like twice and now I'm back because I wanted advice on turning a Country Dog into an Apartment Dog. It's gone quite well.

Beanie, indirectly. She posted on my behalf when I was scoping BC breeders initially, and then while googling around, I found this forum, and her post. I figured if she liked it, I would too!

Many, many moons ago when my old collie was but a young pup I was on a forum called Acme Pets (I think). They had various boards for all sorts of different critters and I frequented the dog boards.

I made friends there and was there quite frequently...then life got busy and I dropped off the forum.

When I got less busy the forum had been shut down...

When I lost my old man cocker to kidney failure and Maeve the collie was an old codger I decided I wanted to find another nice place filled with dog people...

I googled and poked at forums and chaz stuck :D

HA! I was tarred and feathered on a rabid rescue forum and came to Chazhound to seek shelter from the crazies!

It's been a wild ride - have taken extended breaks, but I always seem to come back. Either I really like you guys, or I like the psychological abuse! :rofl1:

I think this strange girl I met named Meagan told me she was a member here...

:p

I'm on a LOT of other forums... but this seems to be the most calm/active, by far. Not a lot of close-minded people, no harassment, not a lot of newbs, but it's for all breeds and not just one. :)

I had been on other little dog forums. Still read a doberman one occasionally but never post, was only active when it started.

I was trying to find pictures of my husband and one of our dogs on facebook and didn't want to go through every pic with my computer loading so slow so I was googling his name-Chaz and dog and the forum popped up and that was it! Still here years later! My computer is much faster for me to get through my photobucket now to.

I was on a chihuahua forum that was heavily moderated. After calling out someone for being a BYB rather than not replying to her thread with "awww, cute puppies!" I was banned.

I didn't like the other chihuahua forums out there, so I googled for dog forums. Chaz was the first one to come up. I lurked for a little bit and liked what I saw, so I joined :)

Bronki died. I was looking at these funny dog pics and it brought up a forum.I had never seen a dog forum before.I saw the rainbow bridge and posted my grief there. Some people were very kind and understanding, I liked what I saw in the forum, so I stayed. THat was almost a decade ago.

I google searched the name of a specific border collie breeder since I was/am planning on getting a puppy from her, and there was a topic asking about her on here. Then I liked the forum, and so tada, here I am. :D

Way back in the day when I was like, 14, I was a member of a dog forum that no longer exists. Globalpaw, it was called. Anyways, I liked it so much that I looked around for other dog forums, and came across Chaz. I joined, posted some, but Globalpaw was my main forum. After awhile I stopped posting on Chaz. I don't even remember what my username was when I first joined. lol Anyway, another dog forum I'm a member of got really, really slow, so I was looking for another forum to be my "main" forum. Remembered Chaz from days gone by and thought I'd give it another shot now. Glad I did!

I was on the same forum, posted some, but mostly lurked and when I got Django, I really wanted to be an active poster, again. But not on that forum. Sizzle told me about Chaz.

I was linked by a dog group on FB. I haven't found another dog forum I like in the fivish years I've been looking, so I'm definitely here to stay :)

I had been active on a few horse forums since I was probably 13 or 14, but never a dog one. I was about a week or two away from picking Quinn up and dogs were the only thing on my mind, so I did a google search and joined Chaz and Dogforums (or something like that). Needless to say Chaz kept my attention and I forgot about the other forum LOL.

Cool thread idea. I think I was probably following drama here but I know I stayed because I was so disenchanted with pit bull forums and the diverse, fun, open minded, and good hearted community here really impressed me.

Well. I think technically google... but that was ages ago I am not 100% sure. I had a few friends like Tessa and Sam (pixie) and for a while I didn't post much, but I read everything, and I've always loved it here. Some of us go way back :) and I like that about chaz

ETA: THE ONLY REASON I STAY IS JESS

there :p :rofl1:

I belonged to another dog forum and kept seeing references to this one and eventually checked it out. Liked it, stayed, and over time pretty much stopped visiting the other one unless looking for something specific. Much more fun/less insanity here. I think I'm kind of a one-forum person...I will browse others for info but only really participate in one at a time :)

Blame Laurelin :p
Hey! :p I think I brought a lot of people here... at least in a round about way.

I joined Chaz when I was a freshman in college and had no dogs living with me. It sucked and I wanted to talk dogs. I used to be involved in a dog showing game online and kind of just transitioned to real dog forums, lol. I joined like... 5 dog forums in college. I still post on 2 pretty regularly.
