Scary!

Whoa... Hannah just had her first for real asthma attack while she was at gymnastics class. She completely panicked. *Talking down a 5 year old who can't breath and is in full Panic mode is a task. *She was freakin and wouldn't take her inhaler. *I finally got her to take it and like magic... All was well with the world again. *She is ok now and went right back to her gymnastics class but man that was scary for both of us. *I thought she was gonna pass out.

I can't even imagine your terror. I'm glad she was able to hop right back to class! <3

Yeah so scary. I ddidn't know what was wrong for sure at first. I took her to the bathroom and she kept saying her tummy hurt or she had to go to the bathroom and then she started to cry as much as one can when they can't breathe. I asked her if she needed her inhaler and she just kept saying NO NO NO. At that point I put my ear to her chest and I could hear it. Then the color dropped out of her face and skin got all blotchy and thats when I started to freak. I managed to keep my composure because me losing it would have really set her off but inside I was a wreck.

Before this her asthma had always just preseted with a persistant cough but this full blown attack.

I am glad it happened while you were nearby. Poor little girl, imagine if Mommy wasn't around, how much scarier it would have been.

Ugh. Been there, done that, never hope to do it again. One of the kids I used to babysit had serious attacks. Scary stuff.

Thank goodness you were with her and you managed to keep your composure.
It's good she went back to class too.

Yes I am so Glad I was with her and knew what to do because no one would have guessed asthma attack otherwise. Since she kept sating she didn't need her inhaler and she was sick and her tummy hurt and everything else but having had asthma as a child myself I knew when I listened to her chest thats what it was.

I am prone to panicking in scary situations except when it comes to Hannah. God has blessed me with the ability to hold my composure when it comes to scary situations with her (even f i am panicking on the inside lol) and she's had her fair share of "scare the heck out of mom" moments lol

I bought her a popsicle at the end of gymnastics for being such a trooper. I told her I was super proud of her for working it out and wanting to go finish class when she has every reason to scrap the while thing.
