Yeah, I don't even have a trash can. I put my little bit of non-recyclables in a cereal bowl and take it out to the dumpster once or twice a week. I'm going to start a compost bucket soon. Just have to get the motivation/energy/unlaziness to do it.

Yep! Portland is really great about picking up pretty much anything that you could ever imagine could be recycled. #1-7 plastic, plastic grocery bags, any color glass, pots and pans, empty aerosol cans, aluminum foil, tin or aluminum cans, hard cover books, paperback books, pizza boxes, milk and juice cartons, cereal boxes, pretty much any cardboard or paper you can think of. There's really no excuse not to recycle here. You just put it next to the trash and it gets picked up!

Yeah basically everything is recycled here. It would feel weird to put newspapers or cardboard or plastic containers in the garbage.

Always :) everything I can! My building is very good about having recycling bins in the trash chute area and having signs about what is/isn't recyclable

We recycle most big cardboard boxes because I get a lot of stuff shipped to me. A lot of paper products since I'm a student and have tons of paper everywhere.

Not so much plastic because we don't have a bin for it in the complex and rarely anything else.

Oh we also don't compost even though our community is encouraging it a lot.

The city isn't really great about recycling. I don't even know where the recycling center is.

We just burn cardboard and other paper products, if we can. Wood stove.

City we might be moving to has a decent recycling system, apparently. I would like to do it. BF is used to it, so he would like to go back to recycling.

Yep!

Our town provides large trash and recycling containers. They take almost everything- plastic bags, bottles, cardboard, glass, etc. we always have way more recycling than trash.

My in laws live in Denver, and their trash gets sorted into recyclables and garbage at the plant so they just throw everything away in the regular trash. The first few days of a visit I always feel a little weird and slightly guilty for throwing recyclables in the trash, aheheh.

We're about to get no-sort bins here, so you just put all your recyclables in one big bin like the trash bin.

Yes. I've just moved towns and they have different items they recycle compared to my old town, so I've had to retrain myself. The first load I sent off would've been a nightmare for the sorting people.

We have 2 65 gallon containers- one for trash, and one for recycling. We don't have to sort the recycling which is really nice.

This is pretty much how ours is, except that our recycle bins (provided by the garbage people) are smaller than the trash can...but we have several. Out of habit we put plastic in one, paper in another, glass and cans and such in the last...but they throw all the recycling into the same bin so it's actually kind of silly that we still sort it

We don't recycle. They give us a recycling bin, but they never gave/can give any info about it. And the sorting bins inside it are small and about halfway down. So we might get 2 days of recycling out of a week anyway. It's not really a good system here.

Hopefully in Italy.

can't vote on the pole because I'm on tapatalk but we recycle! our trashcan ist really small for the amount of people living here. we have a bin for paper a bin for glass and one for plastics as well as our regular trash. we get money back for bottles we bring back (25 cents each) so those in back to the supermarket!
